This week’s movies and TV shows arriving on Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV include two docuseries, a sci-fi series’ final season, a sci-fi thriller, and a comedy show. While many studios have been pushing their releases back to theaters around the COVID-19 pandemic, many viewers still prefer to wait for content to come to streaming, and those waits are still shorter than they used to be. This week, Amazon Prime Video is adding several shows and movies perfect to stream directly from the comfort of a couch.

Last week, Amazon added Burning to Prime Video, an Amazon Original documentary about the disastrous bushfires in Australia from 2019 through 2020. They also added Spiral, the ninth installment in the Saw horror franchise, Wrath of Man, a heist thriller starring Jason Statham, and the first season of Harlem, and Amazon Original series about four ambitious women in Harlem, NYC. As it was the start of the month, they also added a huge trove of older movies and TV shows to explore on both Prime Video and IMDb TV.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Prime Video functions on a monthly cycle, which means that while some platforms add their weekly content on a single day, Amazon releases new content throughout the week. This content usually includes Amazon Originals, movies and TV series that are making their first appearance on streaming, and older content that is making its debut on Amazon’s streaming service. Here is everything that Amazon is adding to Prime Video during the week of December 5.

FC Bayern: Behind The Legend – December 8

Amazon’s first addition to Prime Video of the week will be the Amazon Original docuseries FC Bayern: Behind the Legend. Releasing on December 8, the six-part documentary sees experts delve into the history of the Munich-based soccer club. In particular, it focuses on the intense period following on from the 2019/20 season that was the club’s most successful in history.

The Ferragnez – December 9

The Ferragnez is an eight-part docuseries that takes an intimate look at the lives of two influencers. The digital entrepreneur and fashion icon, Chiara Ferragni pairs up with the versatile artist Fedez to form the Ferragnez. Filmed through 2020 and 2021, The Ferragnez seeks to explore both the extraordinary and traditional aspects of the pair’s lives. The docuseries promises to provide fans of the duo with a sensitive examination of the passions, joys, tears, and ambitions of the young couple as they allow a special insight into their family life like never before.

The remaining group continues trying to make each other laugh until only one comedian remains.

A Christmas Star – December 12

New To IMDb TV

While Amazon provides content on Prime Video for Prime members, viewers with or without a prime membership can see additional content on IMDb TV, which is also owned by Amazon. IMDb TV is an ad-supported streaming service, so all of its content can be viewed on-demand immediately and has no additional costs to pay. IMDb TV will be adding a holiday-themed special of Play-Doh Squished on December 10. Play-Doh Squished sees teams of adults and children working together in a competition filled with strange side games to build the best creations they can out of Play-Doh. In the holiday special, the teams are competing to win a $5,000 cash prize, while the losers will have their creations squished by a pneumatic press.

IMDb TV will also be getting two older thrillers released on Amazon’s ad-supported model. The 2016 action thriller Triple 9 will arrive on December 8. Triple 9 stars Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Gal Gadot, Woody Harrelson, and Kate Winslet. An Atlanta-based crew of criminals set out to pull off a heist that involves creating a fake officer down call. On December 10, IMDb TV will receive the 2019 reboot of Child’s Play, starring Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, Brian Tyree Henry, and Mark Hamill, a perfect movie to catch up on after the Chucky TV series. All this means that there’s plenty of entertainment available on both Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV.
