It looks like players may be getting a Daredevil game on the PlayStation 5, if recent rumors are to be believed. There was once a Daredevil video game planned for the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox console, but it was cancelled before development had finished. However, thanks to the success of recent superhero video games like Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4, it appears as if Daredevil may finally get his time to shine.

It hasn’t just been Marvel superheros who have been receiving quality video game adaptations, but DC Comics characters as well. The most notable DC Universe games (besides DC Universe Online itself) are the four games in the Batman: Arkham series. Players have eagerly been awaiting word about another new Batman: Arkham entry ever since Warner Brothers began tweeting out cryptic messages relating to the Court of Owls and the League of Assassins, but currently they have not yet revealed what project they are teasing.

However, according to rumors accumulated by Inverse, it appears as if Daredevil will be getting his own game as well. These alleged leaks have apparently been given a dose of credibility, as longtime video game voice actor Troy Baker recently retweeted a message which discussed which superhero characters should get a game next, tagging Vice President and Head of Creative at Marvel Games, Bill Rosemann. Rosemann responded to Baker’s message by saying “You, sir, are clearly a man without fear,” something which is a direct reference to Daredevil himself. Check out the exchange on Twitter below:

As described by Inverse, rumors about a PlayStation 5 Daredevil game first appeared (as they always do) on the message board website 4chan, where the game is said to be planned for a release somewhere around either late 2021 or early 2022. Curiously, the leaks report that Daredevil’s open world is said to be set in modern-day Chicago instead of Hell’s Kitchen, and allegedly feels like a “noir-style detective game.”

Especially considering how cool the original Daredevil video game on the PlayStation 2 looked before it was cancelled, the idea of a fully-realized, graphically-enhanced version coming to the PlayStation 5 is something which many fans are likely excited about, and Rosemann’s comments to Baker only add fuel to the spreading fire of PS5 game rumors. It’s worth noting that if anyone was allowed to drop hints about upcoming Marvel products, it would be Rosemann himself, and his mention of a man without fear so close to the recent alleged Daredevil leaks is either him just poking fun at the fans for getting excited or a tease that something very, very cool is coming soon.
