Here’s a look at the new and returning cast of characters for HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves season 2. Raised by Wolves is a sci-fi series created by Aaron Guzikowski and executive produced by Ridley Scott. The main thrust of the story follows two androids, a Necromancer named Mother, and a service android named Father, who leave a war-torn Earth in order to restart humanity on a new planet called Kepler-22b. Carrying human embryos, Mother and Father are able to bring six children to life, but only one survives the harsh conditions on the new planet.

In addition to the androids, there are two warring sects that have emerged from the war-ravaged Earth in Raised by Wolves: The Mithraics, a religious group of humans who swear allegiance to a God they call Sol and The Atheists, non-believers who fight against any kind of religious persecution. The Mithraics win the war on Earth, having created the  Necromancers—powerful androids who can fly and cause mass destruction with their high-pitched screams and super-powered strength. However, this left Earth ecologically ravaged, forcing humanity to seek a new planet to inhabit.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Mother and Father are the first to arrive from Earth and after 12 years are suddenly confronted with a myriad of refugees, as well as local creatures and oddities that threaten to upend their world. Raised by Wolves season 1 saw them fighting off these threats, while finding new ways to survive, all the while dealing with their own differences to one another. After Mother seemingly becomes pregnant, a Mithraic survivor proclaims himself the prophet of Sol, and the children begin to suspect everyone around them, Raised by Wolves dives deep into sci-fi lore, taking on familiar issues of man vs. machine, new worlds, alien lifeforms, politics, religion, and of course, violence. The strange, mysterious, and compelling drama returns to HBO Max in February 2022 with more of the same weirdness that makes it so great. Below is the returning cast, as well as the new additions for Raised by Wolves season 2.

Raised By Wolves Season 2 Returning Characters

Amanda Collins as Mother

Mother is an android called a Necromancer, created by an Atheist scientist on Earth, with the intent of sending her to Kepler-22b, in order to restart humanity with her assigned partner, an android named Father. Left with only one surviving human son (Campion) and five kidnapped children from the Mithraic ship she destroyed, Mother also mysteriously gives birth to a serpent-like creature at the end of season one, which she attempts to destroy by flying into the planet’s core, but ends up going through the other side and escaping into what appears to be the Tropical Zone of the planet, where her “child” is set free. Collins previously appeared in Danish films like A Horrible Woman and The Exception.

Abubakar Salim as Father

Father is a service android created by the Atheists, programmed to help raise human children alongside Mother. However, he is reprogrammed by the Mithraic when they invade, causing his programming to be skewed, before being returned to his original settings. His relationship with Mother becomes strained as they often clash over their mission to the children, yet they remain together regardless. Salim previously appeared in the Jamestown series, as well as providing voice work for the Assassin’s Creed video game series as Bayek.

Travis Fimmel as Marcus

Marcus was born as Caleb, an Atheist soldier in the war-torn Earth of the 22nd century. In order to gain access to the Mithraic’s Ark of Heaven ship that was set to travel to Kepler-22b, Caleb and his wife, Mary, have an android perform surgery on their faces, taking over the identity of Mithraic couple Marcus and Sue. Once aboard the ship, they find out that they have a son named Paul, who they bond with on the journey to the new planet. However, the ship is destroyed by Mother shortly after it arrives, and she kidnaps five children, including Paul. Marcus and Sue go on a rescue mission to save him, but Marcus begins to hear voices he believes to be the Mithraic God, known as Sol. Suddenly, he believes he is the prophet of their religion and slowly slips into madness, eventually betrayed by his followers who beat and force him to swallow the eye of a Necromancer, which leaves him even more possessed and unhinged by his belief in Sol. Fimmel previously starred in History’s Vikings and the video game adaptation World of Warcraft.

Niamh Algar as Sue

Sue, originally born as Mary, is the wife of Marcus. She is a combat medic who has her face changed by an android to take over the identity of Sue and accompany Marcus to Kepler-22b aboard the Ark of Heaven. On the ship, she discovers that the couple they stole identities from has a son on the ship named Paul. Sue’s maternal instincts kick in and she treats Paul as her own. However, once on Kepler-22b, Sue is faced with Marcus’ new change in proclaiming himself the prophet of Sol, eventually becoming separated from him and joining up with Mother, Father, and the kids. Paul eventually shoots Sue when Sol reveals to him the truth about her. Algar starred in the UK series Deceit and recently appeared in Guy Ritchie’s Wrath of Man.

Winta McGrath as Campion

Campion is the only surviving “son” of Mother and Father, born from the embryos they brought from Earth. Campion is raised as an Atheist by the androids, but slowly begins to gain faith and empathy, particularly for living creatures. He is a natural leader and although he becomes friendly with Paul, the two headstrong boys appear to have a burgeoning rivalry. McGrath has also appeared in the Australian TV show Doctor Doctor.

Felix Jamieson as Paul

Paul is the born son of the real Marcus and Sue, whose identities were stolen by Caleb and Mary on Earth. His real parents dead and his new parents Atheist imposters, Paul is eventually kidnapped by Mother from The Ark of Heaven, along with four other children, and brought back to be raised by them. Paul carries a pet mouse he was given by Marcus, and eventually begins to hear a voice that he believes to be Sol as well. Sol hears a voice believed to be Sol that Sue is not his mother, which causes him to retaliate and shoot her. Jamieson previously appeared in the HBO limited series, Catherine The Great.

Ethan Hazzard as Hunter

Hunter is the older headstrong Mithraic child kidnapped by Mother from The Ark of Heaven. His father was a high-ranking Mithraic official and Hunter believes he has a higher social status than the others. He is arrogant, but also technically proficient, being able to reprogram Father, eventually helping them all escape Marcus and reunite with Mother. Hazzard previously starred in The Long Song mini-series, as well as the film Break.

Jordan Loughran as Tempest – Tempest is another child that Mother kidnapped when she destroyed The Ark of Heaven, who happened to be pregnant with the child of a Mithraic cleric who raped her while she was in hibernation. Although the clerk was sentenced to death when his crime was discovered, Tempest lost her faith in Sol as a result and struggles with Mother about having the baby. Loughran previously starred in the TV show Emerald City and also appeared in the film The Infiltrator.

Aasiya Shah as Holly – Another child kidnapped by Mother from The Ark of Heaven, Holly is a faithful servant of Sol, but is also welcoming of her new environment with Mother and Father. She remains true to the Mithraic cause, but is also a survivor and does what she must to adapt to the elements of Kepler-22b. Shah previously appeared in the British series Bloods, as well as The Beast Must Die.

Ivy Wong as Vita – Vita is the youngest of the children that Mother kidnaps and brings to her flock. Vita is quiet and strong, protected by her fellow siblings. Wong previously appeared in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Matias Varela as Lucious – A Mithraic soldier who follows Marcus for a time until he believes him to be a false prophet, Lucious is torn between his loyalties to Sol and restoring his father’s name, whom he believes performed dishonorably under the real Marcus’ command on Earth. Lucious attacks Marcus and forces a Necromancer eye down his throat, leaving him for dead and marching off with the remaining Mithraic soldiers.

Morgan Santo as Vrille – Vrille is a humanoid android that’s built to look and behave like her human counterpart, a child that committed suicide. Selina Jones as Grandmother – Grandmother is described as a “god-like android, built thousands of years ago by members of the lost civilization that existed on Kepler 22b.” This is Jones’ first major role.
