RDR2 Player Shows Best & Most Brutal Way To Break Micah Out Of Jail

A Red Dead Redemption 2 player recently shared footage of the brutal method they used to break Micah Bell out of his jail cell in Strawberry. As anyone who’s played the prequel knows, Micah isn’t a beloved character by any means. The Red Dead community harbors nothing but disdain for the cruel, two-bit traitor. And, truth be told, Red Dead 2 goes out of its way to demonstrate that many of Micah’s fellow gang members don’t think too fondly of him, either.

A petty outlaw and racist, Micah debuts in Red Dead Redemption 2’s opening chapter, showing his true colors at the earliest opportunity. Rockstar explores the character further throughout the lengthy open-world experience, underscoring his irrational violent tendencies and immoral disposition with great depth. There exists no nuance either, no light at the end of the dark tunnel intimating a possible path to redemption for Micah. Thus, Micah makes for an fascinating villain, one that fans evidently despise with great passion.

Reddit user Shermutt recently posted a clip of their routine for breaking Micah out of jail, a method they describe as the “only acceptable” one. It’s a brutal way to approach the mission, too. Shermutt begins the jailbreak simply enough, popping off a shot to gain a wanted level. Sneaking into the jailhouse comes next – again, standard fare. Things venture off the beaten path when the player finds Micah’s cell, lights up a fire arrow, and proceeds to set the imprisoned outlaw ablaze. Waiting for the fire to finally die down is the next step as Micah howls in agony. At least the player allows Arthur to pass the time with a few puffs from a cigarette. Once the fire dies out and Micah lies on the floor burned beyond recognition, the player picks him up and exits the jailhouse with little fuss.

This approach, though violent, accomplishes one key thing – it shuts Micah up. As such, Shermutt’s trip out of Strawberry was likely quiet, with minimal drama to speak of. It proved a successful method, too, meaning many a player may find themselves inclined to give this jailbreak technique a chance.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will celebrate its three-year anniversary later in 2021. Yet, the Wild West-set experience never falls far from the topic of conversation. And the title will soon become the center of attention once more, given the announcement of Red Dead 2’s free Nvidia DLSS upgrade on PC.
