Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Denise Richards’ Movie History As a Bond Girl

Denise Richards of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is probably one of the most popular Bond girls in existence. She was an important character in the 1999 James Bond feature, The World Is Not Enough.

The film was received pretty well, soon becoming the highest-grossing James Bond film of all time. This feat was later beaten by Pierce Brosnan’s final Bond film, Die Another Day. Denise Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has to be one of the best-looking Bond girls, as a prominent magazine placed her on their list of top 100 hottest women of all time. In 2012, she said in a USA Today interview, “The biggest part I got out of it was being part of something so iconic. I couldn’t look at how big it was, though, because that would have been too much pressure. I just had to do my job. But the bigger picture is, it was a whirlwind. When I look back at that time, I couldn’t pick one moment. It was the whole picture.” This tells fans that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reality star developed a good understanding of what being a Bond Girl means. 

While talking to PeopleTV’s Couch Surfing in an interview, the 49-year-old talked a lot about her role as the Bond girl and whom she thinks can be the ‘next best’ Bond girl. While reminiscing about her role in the 007 film, Denise said that she wasn’t really aware of how her casting was such a huge deal and was making headlines at that time. She recalled, ‘It was on the news, and I was like “Why is such a big deal?” My friend was like, “Do you realize you’re in James Bond?” I’m like “Yeah, I’m so excited, it’s a great movie.” Check out the video below:

After some time, she realized the scope of being a Bond girl and what exactly it meant. The Bond girl also talked about how fans Denise Richards fans reacted to her role in the movie, essentially saying, “many people made fun of how I was dressed when the movie came out.” This was because she was playing a scientist, and it was odd for fans to see one running in little shorts with a tattoo.

The newest 007 spy film No Time To Die is set to release in November 2020 and features Ana de Armas as the female lead. However, Denise has some thoughts regarding who she wants as the next Bond girl, and that is none other than her co-star Erika Jayne. She said, “It’s funny. I tell her this on my show. I think Erika Jayne would be an amazing Bond girl. She’s tough, she’s sassy, she would be glamorous and she could sing her theme song.” It is indeed very kind of her to promote her co-star and friend in an interview like this.
