Real Housewives Of Orange County: Why Fans Love The New ‘Tres Amigas’

On The Real Housewives of Orange County season 16, fans are loving the 2.0 version of the new “Tres Amigas” formed by cast members Shannon Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson. The original Tres Amigas consisted of Shannon, Vicki Gunvalson, and Tamra Judge. However, now that Vicki and Tamra are no longer on RHOC, Shannon remained the only “amiga” standing. Viewers loved the friendship that formed between Gina and Emily on RHOC season 13 and it will be interesting to see how the dynamic will change with Shannon in the mix.

Shannon was the one who came up with the catchy name during a raucous night out with Vicki and Tamra. The three blondes always had a fun time together, despite their occasional spats. However, Bravo producers and fans thought that the Tres Amigas were too cliquey and set them apart from the other housewives. Kelly Dodd, who is no longer on the show, often felt like she was on the outskirts of the group. With Vicki and Tamra out of the picture this season, Shannon has found herself another set of friends to align herself with.

Gina, Emily, and Shannon have been on several seasons of RHOC together, so it seemed natural for the women to gravitate toward each other. The women have yet to form a strong bond with newcomers Jennifer Armstrong and Noella Bergener. When the three women had lunch together, they bonded over gossip and cocktails. After a couple of shots of tequila, they dubbed themselves the new “Tres Amigas.” While the original Tres Amigas had a lot of fun together, there was a lot of drama and fighting amongst them. Fans love the easygoing, real friendship between Emily and Gina and are hoping it will rub off on Shannon.

The original Tres Amigas were inseparable during their heyday on RHOC. But after Tamra and Vicki were axed from the show, their friendship took a hit. Tamra has claimed that Shannon wasn’t there for her after she left the show, while Shannon has said she was hurt that Tamra repeatedly talked badly about her publicly. Surprisingly, Kelly has helped Shannon through the hurt of losing Vicki and Tamra as friends. Kelly and Shannon have had a tumultuous relationship for years, but they seem to be in a good place now.

Fans love the more hip energy of the new cast on The Real Housewives of Orange County. This is the first season where none of the original cast members are on. With two new faces and Heather Dubrow returning after taking a few years off, this season is bound to shake things up. Gina and Emily are the only ones coming into season 16 with a tight friendship so it will be interesting to see how the rest of the women click with each other. Hopefully, the Tres Amigas will make lots of appearances this season.
