More than four years after it ended, The Real Husbands Of Hollywood has been revived on BET+. And the new edition has turned out even funnier by incorporating topics such as cloning and space travel. Events in the parody show mostly revolve around comedian Kevin Hart and his celebrity friends as they portray fictionalized versions of themselves.

Numerous celebrities have appeared on the show, including Mark Cuban, Dr. Phil, Kelly Rowland, and Chris Rock. The recurring cast members have never disappointed either but who among them is the best? Great scripts coupled with incredible individual performances have made a few characters stand out

10 Nelly

Nelly can now count himself as one of the rappers who transitioned into acting. In this role, his glory days are behind him and he is now happy spending his time with Kevin and the rest of the gang. He has plenty of relationship problems to deal with too.

Nelly is perhaps the most laid-back member of the cast. He rarely speaks, preferring to be a good listener on most occasions. His unfazed nature is impressive too, such that when his fiance even leaves him at the alter, he sees it as no big deal. What makes Nelly the weakest among the top characters is that he doesn’t bring much comedy to a series that’s supposed to be hilarious.

9 Boris Kodjoe

Best known for his role as Robert, one of the most likable Station 19 characters, Boris also portrays an exaggerated version of himself. A running gag on the show is Boris being a bit too proud of his German heritage.

Unlike most of the cast members, Boris is mostly drama-free. He often acts as the voice of reason whenever there is a dispute and as such, his friends respect him. However, he is depicted as a character who can easily get duped. He takes forever to figure out Kevin is a clone after having seen him in two places at once. That he gets tricked by Trina into appearing in a B-movie that’s below his paygrade also raises questions about his wisdom.

8 Michelle Weaver

After many failed attempts at marriage, Kevin settles with Michelle. Unfortunately for him, she proves to be the toughest of his wives as she is unable to tolerate his antics.

Michelle is the stereotypical nagging partner. Preferring a Kevin that’s more humble, she is happy to drag him to marriage counseling sessions. Since she’ll stop at nothing to have the version of Kevin she wants, she even makes sure to hire the ‘best ever counselor’ (Dr. Phol). But despite the pressure, she is shown to be a deeply caring partner.

7 Jackie Long

Long is happy to be Kevin’s de facto personal assistant in exchange for food, clothing, and shelter. Moreover, he is said to owe everyone in Los Angeles money.

Jackie always stands out by doing outrageous things, such as growing a high flattop and starting a strip channel that ends up having 10 million subscribers. Additionally, it’s always a joy to watch the character botch most of his tasks and come up with quite convincing explanations why he didn’t do as told.

6 Robin Thicke

Robin is more than happy to be the only white member of the main cast. He always claims to have great knowledge of Black culture and is extremely overprotective of his partners.

What makes Robin such an entertaining character is how he enjoys picking up feuds with everyone. In some of his best arcs, he goes after Kevin for allegedly crushing on his wife and tries to make Nick a #MeToo target by editing a video of his speech. Additionally, Robin is always more than glad to make fun of his own career as a singer. He even goes as far as to hilariously claim he is living in Mexico because paying Marvin Gaye’s family for stealing the singer’s song is much cheaper when done with Pesos.

5 Trina Shaw

Kevin’s attorney Trina is ever swift to call him out on his poor financial practices as well as his general dereliction. Additionally, she tries her best to get the best career opportunities for him.

Trina is somewhat of a guardian angel and a great motivator. Over the course of the series, she not only gets Kevin to try and host the Oscars but also to check in to rehab. She plays a part in his attempt to go to the moon too. And it’s not just Kevin she helps as Trina points his friends in the right direction too from time to time.

4 Duane Martine

Duane has never figured out his true calling so he keeps trying different things. Over the course of the series, he has tried to set up a clothing factory as well as star in a TV show. At the moment, he has settled for being Kevin’s assistant.

His numerous misfortunes aside, Duane is ever the likable character thanks to his good heart. No matter how rudely one talks to Duane, he always remains polite. He has been instrumental in helping Kevin in some of his best schemes too, including the most recent one where the star comedian cloned himself in order to effectively handle his many responsibilities.

3 Nick Cannon

On the show, Nick Cannon is the second most successful person after Kevin. Because of his status, he always sees the rest of the crew members as beneath him.

A competitive person, Nick is defined by his rivalries. He does his best to topple Kevin as the most successful man on the show and ends up being extremely hilarious while at it. Most of Nick’s real-life headline-making moments are also incorporated into his fictional storyline, including his tendency to father many children.

2 J.B. Smoove

J.B, spends most of his days hanging around the house, playing poker, and gossiping about the lives of his friends. He is extremely unlucky in love too.

J.B.’s random comical moments are what boost his appeal as a character. He brilliantly alternates between saying funny things and acting in a goofy manner. His curiosity about Kevin always leads to awkward moments too. It’s through him that the others get to discover that Kevin has clones. And in a great show of hypocrisy, he goes on to clone himself too.

1 Kevin Hart

The version of Kevin seen on the comedy series is that of a comedian that’s yet to achieve most of his dreams. And it easily counts as one of the best performances where actors play fictionalized versions of themselves.

Since events revolve around him, Kevin has privileges when it comes to screen time and dialogue. His lines are the funniest and so are his frantic actions. Kevin also relates very well with his fellow cast members, thus painting himself as a friend who really cares. Kevin’s numerous acts of mischief never fail to be entertaining either.
