The classic cover art for Red Dead Redemption has been recreated using the sequel’s in-depth photography mode. This isn’t the first time that Red Dead Redemption 2‘s photo mode was used for recreating specific artwork as the detailed mode has allowed the game’s players to snap some very impressive stills of the gorgeous game. Players have taken to use the game’s photo mode to take hyper-realistic and incredible art.

Red Dead Redemption 2 released in October of 2018 to widespread critical praise. The massive sequel to the beloved Red Dead Redemption continued the series theme of flawed protagonists trying to make their way through the wild west. The sequel’s map contains some locations from the first but also brought with it a massive stretch of new wilderness to explore. Since then, the game has also released a significantly popular online mode that has proven divisive to fans due to the lack of content and support by Rockstar compared to the developer’s other online game, Grand Theft Auto Online.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Redditor snushyslushy has shown how they lovingly recreated Red Dead Redemption’s original cover art featuring the first game’s protagonist, John Marston. The image is as close as one can probably get to copying the original. Marston is complete with a similar outfit, slicked back grown-out hair, and a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun pointed at the camera. Of course, this took some time considering one has to make it towards the end of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s story mode to gain access to John Marston as a playable character.

Red Dead Redemption 2‘s photo mode has been embraced by fans since its release and tons of images have been shared on various platforms showing off player’s talents for capturing expert images from the game. A whole subreddit has been spawned dedicated to the hobby of in-game imagery as well. The game boasts some impressive graphics even years after its release and it runs even better on the newer current-gen platforms.

The photography mode is one of the few features keeping die-hard fans playing Red Dead Online, a mode that has struggled to keep its players coming back. Many players praise the mode for the content that does exist within but criticize Rockstar for showing mediocre support for the game that has caused many to leave the game for good. Rockstar has made small moves to keep Red Dead Online relevant, the most recent being to make the mode standalone from the base game.
