Warning! Spoilers for Task Force Z #3 by DC Comics

In a violent act of revenge for the death of Alfred Pennyworth, the Red Hood just took down Bane in a dramatic fashion. In Task Force Z #3, Jason Todd leads his undead team on a dangerous mission. However, when he gets the chance to confront Bane one-on-one about killing Alfred, the Red Hood ends up throwing the massive villain off the side of a skyscraper.

In current DC Comics continuity, Batman and his allies’ world was rocked when Bane snapped the neck of Alfred Pennyworth and killed the iconic character. Alfred’s death still has repercussions to this day, as Batman has consistently felt lost without the aid of his father figure and confidant. At the same time, Damian Wayne is haunted by Pennyworth’s ghost after tragically seeing him die right before his eyes. Perhaps worst of all, Jason Todd is forced to lead an undead version of Bane (kept alive by Lazarus Resin) as part of the new Task Force Z. However, the Red Hood isn’t about to forgive and forget what happened Alfred.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In Task Force Z #3 written by Matthew Rosenberg, with art by Eddy Barrows, inks by Eber Ferreira, colors by Adriano Lucas, and letters by Rob Leigh, Jason Todd awakens after being injected with Lazarus Resin following his encounter with Deadshot. After negotiating a new deal giving his undead team more Lazarus Resin from Task Force Z’s mysterious benefactor Crispin, the team goes on a mission where they encounter Chesire Cat. The villain nearly takes down Jason Todd before Bane saves him and smashes her into the ground. Bane thanks the Red Hood for the increased Lazarus Resin dose, which allows him to be more human, leading Jason to ask the villains if his memories return. Jason attacks Bane after realizing he remembers killing Alfred, kicking him off the side of a skyscraper.

While there was some good behind his request, it appears that Red Hood asked for more Lazarus Resin to make Bane remember that he killed Alfred. After hearing him say his name, he got revenge on the villain by sending him plunging to his death. It’s a badass moment and one that should give Jason a small amount of closure.

The Red Hood isn’t the same stone-cold killer he once was after being brought back to life. However, he’s still got a darker side to him. But, he likely knows Bane’s death isn’t permanent as he will probably be resurrected with more Lazarus Resin. But still, getting revenge on Bane for the death of Alfred Pennyworth had to feel good for the Red HoodTask Force Z is in comic book stores now.
