With the release of Resident Evil Village in May 2021, players are once more thrown into the world of the undead with some new additions that Ethan Winters has to fight off. Resident Evil Village also shows Capcom’s impressive storytelling, designs, and graphics.

But even with new content, it also comes with new technical mistakes. While some are frustrating and cause problems for players, there are others that are funny. And for a serious game series known for its horrifying content, humorous moments are not something players would expect.

10 Resident Evil Zero: Item Drop To Dodge Scorpion Glitch

At the beginning of the game, the player rides the train, making their way through the horrors presented to them. The undead and the creatures that make their presence known to the player vary in size, shape, and breed. And a giant, mutated scorpion is one of them.

The player can cause this glitch to occur. It will happen when playing as Officer Billy Coen. Rather than wasting any precious ammo, the player can drop an item when the scorpion is close. When the scorpion is right up against the player, the player can pick the item up, going through the scorpion itself and allowing the player to wander off as if nothing had happened. It’s safe to say Capcom was not expecting players to do this.

9 Resident Evil: “Headless” Crimson Head Glitch

The easiest way to down a zombie is a bullet to the head. And when shooting a creature of the undead in the head, the player expects it to stay down. In the Resident Evil Remake, a glitch defies that expectation and makes the player work a little harder to down the enemy.

This glitch is rare, but it can occur. The player can encounter a Crimson Head, and after shooting it in the head, it goes down. Then it gets back up. It will stagger towards the player with no head and continue to go for the character, making the player load it with more bullets to put it down for good. While it’s a bit of an inconvenience, it’s an entertaining moment for the mere fact that there is a headless corpse staggering around.

8 Resident Evil 2: Air Walking Library Zombie Glitch

Zombies will bite and tear apart a player and devour them. And in the remake of the second game, they like to defy the laws of gravity. These zombies also like to grab and bite at the player’s ankles when given a chance.

There is a section where the player will be going through the library. On the upper level, walking over the makeshift walkway, a particular zombie will be air walking and go over a railing, and swan dives through the walkway and back onto the ground. And sometimes, even after they fall through, they can grab and nibble at the players’ ankles before dragging the player down. After observing the spectacle, it is recommended to keep moving and quickly avoid ankle-biting.

7 Resident Evil 3: Wall Glitch

The original third game had a few glitches here and there, as any other game does. The remake, though, makes it look like the terrifying villain Nemesis is just trying to get Jill to stick around while he stands there and looks at her. It would make for an awkward one-sided conversation if this were the motive.

The glitch can occur when Jill crouches underneath a garage door. If the player stops, and this glitch occurs, one of Nemesis’ tentacles appears and drags Jill back out into the open. Luckily, the player can get back under without being harmed as Nemisis stands there and does nothing. It’s another one of those glitches that can be humorous and a bit of annoyance, but at least the player can still escape unharmed.

6 Resident Evil 4: Invisible Jet Ski Glitch

The fourth game has its fair share of glitches, but there’s one that stands out the most. Ashley is known as a terrible sidekick and annoying, and this glitch brought a bit of comic relief to have to work with her. It also allows the player a moment of laughter before continuing on.

After approaching the dock, Leon will start up the jet ski and tell Ashley to hold on. Leon then begins navigating an invisible jet ski, leaving the actual jet ski and Ashley behind. Seeing Leon riding an invisible jet ski while Ashley sits there on the real jet ski is a sight to see and was a noteworthy addition to this list.

5 Resident Evil 5: Barrel Roll Zombie Dog Glitch

When playing the fifth game, one thing that comes to mind isn’t just bolder punching but the player also has to deal with the reoccurring zombie dogs. These dogs like to jump out and attack the player. And while they are a nuisance, this glitch helps take the edge off and makes for a good laugh.

This glitch can occur when a zombie dog attacks Sheva. When the dog is on Sheva, and the player starts to shoot it, the dog begins to barrel roll in mid-air. After a few seconds, it will fall to the ground. When it finally hits the ground, it will still be alive, so the player will have to make sure it stays down.

4 Resident Evil 6: Motorcycle Ride Upside Down Glitch

The sixth installment of the series allows the players to play multiple characters at different chapters, and in one of these chapters, the player gets to play Jake Wesker. And in one of Jake’s chapters, Jake and Sherri have to escape their pursuers.

After the tank explosion, Jake and Sherri take off on a motorcycle. As they are riding off, trying to shake off their attackers, the helicopter once more appears, this time in front of them. The motorcycle will start gliding on its side, and Jake and Sherri will be riding off upside down while the bridge hangs out underneath them.

3 Resident Evil: Revelations 2: Glass Barrier Glitch

Listening to a monologue from a villain can become tiresome. One of these monologues comes from fan-favorite villain Alex Wesker. Usually, the player is stuck behind the glass, unable to do much. However, there is a glitch that makes the monologue slightly more entertaining.

When in the facility and behind a glass barrier, Claire and Moria stand before Alex Wesker. When Alex begins talking, the glitch allows Claire to walk right through the glass. While the player can’t do any damage, the player can wander around in the area while Alex talks, completely unaware that the player is in the same room as her. The player can shoot and smack her, yet she will keep talking. At least it’s a bit more fun than standing behind glass with Moria waiting for Alex to stop talking.

2 Resident Evil Biohazard: Crazed Marguerite Doorway Glitch

The player doesn’t get a lot of downtime as the Bakers try to indoctrinate the character into the family. Being chased by one of the top characters in Biohazard Marguerite gets the blood pumping. But, a glitch can help the player take a breather.

When the player is playing Mia, there is a point where Marguerite is chasing the player down. There is no escaping her, but the glitch allows the player a few extra seconds of freedom and getting to see Marguerite stuck in a doorway. You’ll see her stuck in a doorway running in place, still grinning, huffing, and grunting. Seeing the crazed Marguerite stuck is amusing, and the glitch allows the player to see it take place without getting harmed.

1 Resident Evil Village: Lady Dimitrescu Doorway Glitch

When the demo first dropped, fans were introduced to the now internet-famous, Lady Dimitrescu. One of her most notable traits is her height. Lady Dimitrescu is approximately 9 feet, 6 inches tall. The player will see her having to duck through doorways throughout the game. And as one glitch would have it, her height is a problem!

In pursuit of Ethan Winters, Lady Dimitrescu is following him and, instead of ducking through the doorway, gets stuck and begins walking in place. The player will witness her walking in place while her body glitches in and out of the wall. This glitch will at least give the player time to run away, but it also makes for a funny sight that begs the question of, “What is it with doorways that make glitches so easy to occur?”
