The latest sales update for Resident Evil 7 reveals the horror title has moved 10 million units worldwide, securing its place as the second best-selling Capcom game to date. Monster Hunter World became Capcom’s top-seller in March 2018, upon shipping 7.5 million copies in total. The action-RPG managed to accomplish such an impressive feat ahead of its PC release, outperforming the publisher’s past products on PS4 and Xbox One alone. Monster Hunter World has more than doubled that figure in the three-plus years since then, topping the 17.1 million milestone this past May. Now Capcom has yet another reason to celebrate.

In a post on the Capcom Dev 1 Twitter account, the Japanese publisher confirmed that Resident Evil 7’s sales now exceed 10 million. This accomplishment further cements the first-person experience’s standing in the Capcom ranks, given its status as the company’s second best-selling title of all time. Evidently, recent Resident Evil releases continue to sell like hotcakes. The Resident Evil 2 remake, which hit stores in January 2019, is already sitting at approximately 9 million copies sold. Within two months of its release, RE Village crossed the 4.5 million milestone. At this rate, both RE2 and this year’s RE Village adventure are well on their way to hitting the coveted 10 million copies sold mark, as well.

Resident Evil 7 is available digitally and at retail for PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.
