A spoof commercial has emerged online, showing what a Resident Evil Village Lady Dimitrescu action figure might look like, and fans are already demanding it be made. The latest entry in Capcom’s long-running horror series launched last week. Since its release on May 7th, there have been numerous positive reviews for Resident Evil Village. Many have noticed the similarities between the eighth mainline game in the iconic franchise and Resident Evil 4, which is widely considered to be one of the best horror titles of all time.

Lady Dimitrescu has proved to be incredibly popular since she was first revealed. Despite the fact that she is just one of four main bosses in Resident Evil Village, her distinctive design and striking appearance made her a fan-favorite long before the game launched. Capcom took advantage of this by heavily featuring Lady Dimitrescu in marketing material for Resident Evil Village, with the figure appearing on trams in Hong Kong, among many other things.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

IGN‘s senior video editor Kevin Cappiello has created a spoof 80s commercial for a Lady Dimitrescu action figure. The video, which can be seen below, shows what the Resident Evil Village villain might look like if she was made into a toy. The fake advertisement is clearly inspired by old-school television commercials for action figures and even features a surprise cameo at the end in the form of a familiar police officer. Comments on YouTube suggest that fans want this toy to become a real product, which makes sense considering the popularity of the character.

Although Capcom has not revealed how many copies of Resident Evil Village have sold, data from Steamdb suggests that it has been successful. The game had more than 100,000 concurrent players on the day of its release on Steam and it took the number one spot on the sales chart in addition to coming at sixth place thanks to a bundle that included Resident Evil 7.

Lady Dimitrescu has become one of the most popular characters in gaming over the last year. Ever since she was first introduced to fans, she has essentially become the face of Resident Evil Village. So while this commercial for an action figure based on the character may be fake, many players would likely want a real toy if it was available.

Resident Evil Village is out now for PC via Steam, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
