Longtime The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Marlo Hampton has been promoted from “friend” to peach-holding housewife on the upcoming season of RHOA. Rumors of an Atlanta cast shakeup have been swirling since season 13 ended after some missteps during the pandemic. Some fans thought the series was hitting a snag with repetitive storylines and old feuds. The cast last season featured Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams, and Drew Sidora.

Cynthia and Porsha announced their departures from the series last month. Both stars are reportedly leaving on their own accord, but that’s not the last fans will see of them. Cynthia is featured on the upcoming spin-off The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip and fans will see Porsha on her new Bravo show, Porsha’s Family Matters. OG housewife NeNe Leakes left the series following season 12 after a combined 10 seasons on the series. Kenya spoke up about the RHOA cast in a 2020 interview and agreed it was time for a cast shake-up after eight seasons on the show. Even after NeNe’s exit and the addition of newcomer Drew, it was clear that RHOA still needed a change in dynamics.

It has now been revealed the cast will be revitalized with some familiar RHOA faces. Marlo will be joining the main cast of RHOA after appearing on the show since season 4, Variety exclusively reports. The “friend” of the RHOA ladies has been upgraded to get her own storyline after years of being a shady fan favorite. Marlo has reportedly been vying for her spot as a main castmate for some time now, and fans are excited to see Marlo become a permanent fixture on the series.

Another addition to the RHOA season 14 cast is returning OG Shereé Whitfield. The on-off castmate has been part of the series for a combined six seasons and coined the franchise-famous line, “Who gon’ check me boo?” Kandi, Kenya, and Drew are returning to RHOA season 14, along with the addition of Olympic track star Sanya Richards-Ross. According to the source, Sanya is a seasoned reality star from her days on Sanya’s Glam and Gold on WeTV in 2013.

Fan-faves Marlo and Shereé are sure to shake up the RHOA cast in a big way in the upcoming season. Both show vets are known for their hilarious reads of other castmates and involvement in on-screen blow-ups.
