RHOA: Sheree’s Estranged Boyfriend Threatens Legal Action Against Show

Sheree Whitfield’s boyfriend Tyrone Gilliams is threatening legal action against The Real Housewives of Atlanta for including his name in major storylines without his consent. Apparently, Tyrone had no clue that his name has been mentioned on the show over the years. Now that Sheree is making her return, Tyrone is working to distance himself from the brand due to his recent release from prison. With Tyrone being in home confinement, he can’t be caught filming or meeting up with anyone on camera. Tyrone’s ongoing legal woes have put a strain on his relationship with Sheree.

Fans were excited when word got out on Tyrone’s prison release earlier this year. Sheree teased her long-distance romance with Tyrone during her last season on RHOA. The two shared a long history as friends and Tyrone was once the cause of drama between Sheree and NeNe Leakes. Dating back to the show’s early seasons, Tyrone’s name has been mentioned despite him never physically filming a scene. His chances of making a guest appearance were halted after Tyrone was sentenced to 10 years in prison for wire fraud schemes where he allegedly stole $5 million. Tyrone had been in custody since 2011 and sat behind bars for two years before being sentenced. After 10 years in prison, Tyrone was released in early 2021 and Sheree was happy to welcome him home.

But with Tyrone’s release coming at the same time as Sheree’s return to the show, it has proven to be more of a hindrance for the couple than a blessing. The former Penn State basketball player recently issued out a cease-and-desist against Bravo for using his name and likeness without his consent, TMZ reports. Tyrone apparently has just been made aware of how frequently his name was included in past storylines. Now Tyrone is threatening legal action against the entire franchise if they don’t keep his name and image offscreen. He’s also asking for any past scenes using his name to be scrapped along with social media and marketing including his likeness.

Tyrone and Sheree are still not on speaking terms after he got upset with her for potentially putting him in trouble. Sheree arrived in Philadelphia to meet up with him but had cameras with her. The couple was supposed to meet at a restaurant, but if Tyrone showed up and cameras caught it, he would’ve been sent back to jail for violating his home confinement. Considering his freedom being at stake, Tyrone has built up resentment towards Sheree and the show. Now the exact status of Sheree and Tyrone’s relationship remains a mystery.

Fans were hopeful they could dig into her love life since she last appeared in season 10. With Tyrone being released, many assumed her romance would be a central piece of her returning storyline. The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG’s return is already started off on the wrong foot. If Tyrone and Sheree break up, she will be back to being a single woman. As an empty nester, she has no kids at home to raise, and as a returning housewife, she won’t have many friends on the cast. Hopefully, things can make a turn for the better and the cameras are able to capture it.
