Kandi Burruss is starring and producing in a new spinoff, and according to People, a spinoff is also in the works for Porsha Williams. A source told that publication: “The series was greenlit several months ago and is set to begin production over the summer. The special will focus on Porsha’s life and her family.” Porsha is involved in a controversial romantic relationship with Simon Guobadia. He’s the ex-husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta“friend of” Falynn Guobadia. Simon has already been accused of cheating on Porsha. Porsha may use the new spinoff as a way to step away and avoid judgment from her fellow cast members. Kandi seemed a bit detached during the reunion. She could use the new OLG show as a way to establish herself as a Lisa Vanderpump-type figure who no longer needs the drama of the Real Housewives to stay relevant.

RHOA season 13 got some of the lowest ratings in the franchise’s history. For example, the season 13 premiere had 489,000 fewer viewers than the Season 12 premiere. Some attributed this to the departure of powerhouse cast member Nene Leakes, but we think it could have more to do with fans’ general displeasure about the direction the series was going in. This storyline was veiled in secrecy. It was never fully addressed head-on. Tanya disappeared from the show, while Porsha strongly denied any scandalous events taking place. Viewers were left with a repetitive circle of the same old drama.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta was once the GOAT of the Real Housewives franchise. It has the potential to return to its former glory. With a cast shakeup, anything is possible. Without a cast overhaul, the show may continue to lose viewers.
