Erika Jayne made a remark during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion and fans are now calling out the scandalized housewife for her racial microaggression. Erika’s ongoing legal drama and divorce were the centers of attention across all four parts of the reunion special. Erika, who is named in a $25 million lawsuit, defended herself at the reunion against allegations she knew of her former husband Tom Girardi’s alleged embezzlement. Host Andy Cohen also grilled Erika about her fights with the other Beverly Hills ladies amid her scandals.

Erika and Sutton Stracke came head to head on the final reunion episode over their heated exchange during Kathy Hilton’s holiday dinner party. Sutton claimed she felt threatened when Erika said she was “coming for” Sutton after Sutton accused Erika of lying at the party. While fans and other housewives agreed Erika’s blow-up was “scary,” Erika argued that if she was on another Real Housewives franchise, Erika’s attack on Sutton would not have been considered so dramatic. “In Potomac, it would have been a conversation, in Atlanta it would have been a conversation,” Erika argued, also adding RHONY as an example before Garcelle Beauvais interjected, asking, “What does that mean?”

Fan account Queens of Bravo pointed out on Twitter that Garcelle, RHOBH‘s first Black housewife, caught Erika’s microaggression “real quick.” Fans agreed Erika’s claims that her attack on Sutton would have been expected on Atlanta and Potomac was problematic because Black women make up the RHOA and RHOP casts. Many thought Erika’s statement subtly perpetuated negative racial stereotypes. “I swear the women at RHOBH need some diversity training or something cause the racial connotations are just too much!!” one Twitter user wrote. Another fan wrote on Twitter that Erika only gave RHONY as an example because Garcelle looked at her. “Erika caught herself!” the fan tweeted.

Another Twitter user said they wished Garcelle would have questioned Erika again about her microaggressive comment, as Garcelle has called out castmates Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley for being racially insensitive in past episodes. Other RHOBH fans pointed out the irony of Erika’s problematic claims that her viciousness would be tolerated on sister franchises RHOA and RHOP. “In those cities Erika wouldn’t even try that ish!” one viewer wrote. “She don’t want that smoke. BH gives her too much grace.

Erika Jayne isn’t the only RHOBH star who has been called out for racial insensitivity. Dorit and Lisa Rinna were both slammed by fans for their inappropriate treatment of Garcelle during the reunion. Viewers are calling for a cast shakeup on RHOBH to promote diversity and keep the privileged cast regulars in check when making insensitive comments. Now that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 filming is underway, fans will have to see if these important issues will be resolved in future episodes.
