The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne has been officially dismissed from the lawsuit against her estranged husband, Tom Girardi. The reality star was previously named in a fraud and embezzlement lawsuit filed in December 2020. Since then, the estranged couple has been dealing with the legal proceedings separately.

In 1998, Erika worked as a waitress at a restaurant where Tom, a founding partner of the law firm Girardi & Keese, was a regular. Despite their 32-year age difference, they became friends and eventually got married. Their lavish LA lifestyle was regularly featured on RHOBH, in which Erika admitted to spending $40,000 per month on hair and make-up alone. After 21 years of marriage, in November 2020, Erika filed for divorce from Tom. One month later, both were accused of embezzling $2 million in settlement funds intended for the families of the victims of the fatal Lion Air Flight 610, which Tom, as the victims’ attorney, was supposed to handle. Erika’s divorce and legal woes were among the primary storylines during RHOBH season 11, in which some of her co-stars questioned her innocence. Tom, on the other hand, was forced to file for bankruptcy, lost his license to practice law, and reportedly got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

On January 29th, 2022, Us Weekly exclusively reported that Erika was dismissed from the lawsuit involving her estranged husband. According to court documents filed in the Northern District of Illinois, obtained by Us, “Pursuant to stipulation, plaintiff’s claims against defendants EJ Global LLC and Erika Girardi are dismissed without prejudice and without costs.” It seems like the Pretty Mess author is in the clear for now, at least legally.

Recently, Erika made headlines due to another legal situation involving jewelry. The reality star was reportedly being pressured to surrender a pair of $750,000 earrings, which were allegedly gifted by Tom with embezzled funds. As she did during season 11 of RHOBH, Erika maintained her innocence throughout all of the legal matters. She is currently filming the twelfth season of the hit reality show, which will feature two new cast members.

The last couple of years have not been a walk in the park for Erika. Amid divorce, legal woes, and the polarizing court of public opinion, Erika’s story continues to unfold. While Erika’s icy demeanor, racy Instagram posts, and treatment of co-stars might not get her the public’s support, the development of Erika Jayne’s life is surely a captivating one. Now that she has been officially dismissed from Tom’s legal matters, hopefully, the upcoming season of RHOBH will showcase “The Pretty Mess” as she navigates her new chapter.
