Producers on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills reportedly told Crystal Kung Minkoff to “speak up” when she returns for season 12. Crystal was a fan favorite on season 11 of the show after being introduced to the group by Kathy Hilton. She played it nice with most of the cast but had an immediate run-in with Sutton Stracke, who disagreed with Crystal about a heated topic on one of their vacations. Later in the trip, Sutton walked into Crystal’s bedroom to return a coat but found Crystal changing.

Crystal told the group she felt violated by the encounter, which offended Sutton. During one of their biggest fights, Sutton said Crystal’s leather pants were ugly, which caused expressions of shock in the other housewives. Their feud lasted several weeks until Crystal and Sutton made peace together. Afterward, they had no more problems.

A source told The Sun that Crystal, who is returning to the cast for season 12, was told by producers to “speak up.” Production “had a talk” with her about the subject, but didn’t say it in a “threatening” manner. They implied Crystal needed to tell her story among the group. The producers, according to the source, want Crystal to “bring it” in the next season.

Many fans also wanted to hear Crystal speak her mind and share her opinions more. Of course, this is a difficult task on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, with a cast of people who love the spotlight. Many of the cast members are actual actors, and the drama they bring to the table is similar to the drama they bring to the big screen (which makes it even harder for newcomers like Crystal to get a word in edgewise). Kyle Richards has been acting for over 40 years and is staring in the new horror film, Halloween Kills, with Jamie Lee Curtis. Lisa Rinna has been in many television shows and movies as well and recently played Billie Reed in Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. Garcelle Beauvais is the mega-famous actor from Coming to America and just appeared in its sequel.

Viewers are excited Crystal is returning to the show. She brings a calm kindness to the room, and she doesn’t feel the need to oversell herself. Hopefully, she can keep her confidence while also meeting the demands of the producers, who seem to want more drama from Crystal. The 35-year-old, however, is one of the most interesting cast members on the franchise. She spoke about her culture, her past battles with an eating disorder, and her brother Jeffrey Kung, who is a famous pop sensation in China.

During the first reunion episode of season 11, Crystal seemed to speak up for herself more, which is what production apparently wants. If she continues on this route, she will probably stay on the show for many seasons to come. This would be wonderful for The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, which needs more fun personalities like Crystal.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
