Former The Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson has often spread misinformation about COVID-19 and the vaccine, but how many times has she actually spoken out about it openly? Vicki has never been one to shy away from her opinion, and she can sometimes find herself on the wrong side of history. The “whoop it up” housewife has tried to live her life as normal as possible through the pandemic, but it has come at a cost.

Vicki will always be known as the woman who started it all as one of the original housewives of the franchise. She was among the first to bring behind-the-gate living to reality TV, and viewers have loved every second of it. Vicki took part in The Real Housewives of Orange County for 14 seasons but finally decided to call it quits after she was demoted to a friend. Bravo fans watched Vicki go through huge life changes like divorcing Donn, running her own insurance company, multiple bad relationships, and finally falling in love again with Steve Lodge. RHOC viewers have missed Vicki on the show, but she has begun to share some dangerous information in the time since.

It is safe to say that everyone has had a pretty unpleasant and scary year and a half thanks to the worldwide pandemic. Still, Vicki has taken her opinions to the next level and started fearmongering those who believe in science. Fans recently learned that while taping The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 2, she told the cast they would die if they got the vaccine. Page Six confirmed the blonde got into multiple altercations with Dorinda Medley, who supports the vaccine.

There have been other occasions where Vicki spoke against having the vaccine. The complaint that started it all for Vicki was back in April of 2020 when she took to her social media to demand that California reopen its beauty salons.  Her son, Michael Wolfsmith, outed her in one of his posts, claiming his mom said “it broke her heart” when he got the vaccine. At the time, Michael called out his mother for not being informed. In September, Vicki also denied having the coronavirus, claiming it was an “unknown cold.” Vicki’s fiance Steve has also slammed the vaccine and the state rules while running for California governor. At the time, he criticized Lisa Vanderpump for requiring proof of vaccination at her Hollywood restaurant.

Vicki has stated she is “not anti-vax” but feels that everyone should be able to make their own decision. According to the CDC, the FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines are safe and have been proven to help protect from variants. Vicki’s ignorance has cast her in dark light with most The Real Housewives of Orange County viewers who feel she should know better.
