RHOC: Nicole James’ Lawsuit ‘Blindsided’ Heather Dubrow’s Husband Terry

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow’s husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, revealed he was extremely shocked when an old lawsuit involving fellow cast member Nicole James was brought up on the show. After rejoining RHOC in its sixteenth season alongside his wife, Terry found himself in the middle of drama from the first episode. Clearly, their five-year absence was quickly compensated. 

Last December, during the season premiere of RHOC, a rumor brought up by Gina Kirschenheiter caused quite a stir at the famed “Chateau Dubrow.” Supposedly, Shannon Beador told Gina about a former acquaintance named Nicole Weise that had sued Terry for a “botched boob job” in the past. When it was revealed that Nicole James, one of Heather’s friends, was previously known as Nicole Weise, Gina connected the dots, told Heather, and blew the lid off of the $36,000 Newport Beach houseparty. 

In an exclusive interview with Page Six, Terry confessed he was “blindsided” by the entire debacle, which ended with a tearful Nicole apologizing. “To be honest with you, my initial reaction was I felt bad — because that meant that there was a problem. And so if I’m your doctor and there’s a problem, I feel bad about it,” Terry recalled of the dramatic scene at his mansion. Terry went on to say that there are no hard feelings between the Dubrows and Nicole. “Obviously, we worked through it and it was no big deal. Heather and Nicole are friends and she’s a wonderful girl. It happened 20 years ago and it was one of these things that came and went and it really wasn’t a big deal,” Terry reassured, noting that all parties involved have left the incident in the past.  

After the chaotic events of the season premiere, during which Heather threatened to quit the show, Terry has managed to steer clear from drama. Since then, many things have changed in the OC: Shannon apologized to Heather for bringing up the old lawsuit, Gina and Heather became good friends, and Nicole exited the show. Terry, meanwhile, has been busy filming his own reality show, Botched, currently in its seventh season. However, both Heather and Terry recently had cause for celebration, as their teen daughter Max released her first book, I’ll Give It To You Straight-Ish.

As far as Real Housewives drama involving the husbands, this OC debacle ranks high. The episode was scandalous, unexpected, explosive, and it even featured a moment in which they broke the fourth wall. Naturally, no reality star wants lawsuits being brought up. Such is the misfortune of fellow “Bravolebrities” Erika Jayne from RHOBH and Jen Shah from RHOSLC. Fortunately, Terry came out pretty much unscathed from this situation in particular. It is yet to be determined whether this will remain true as this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County continues to unfold.
