Noella Bergener has only just picked up her orange, but The Real Housewives of Orange County rookie is already embroiled in a very public battle with her soon-to-be ex-husband, Sweet James Bergener, which came to a head on Christmas. The model has had to defend herself as James finally shared his side of the story. Many have been watching their separation unfold as Noella tries to gather the broken pieces of her life.

RHOC viewers are currently dealing with whiplash since the premiere episode showed Noella singing the praises of her then-husband. Sweet James, who is a well-known Orange County lawyer thanks to his large interstate signs, was revealed to have had outstanding tax debt in the first episode. While Noella seemed to play off the issue, she also stood up for the father of her child. Sadly, only one episode later, James served her with divorce papers while he was in Puerto Rico in hopes of avoiding a few California laws. Noella’s credit cards were shut off, and she has been left with nothing. The couple only married in 2020, leaving viewers and co-stars to question the validity of the marriage.

Over the weekend, James finally broke his silence as he took to his own social media to share his side of the story, explaining his divorce was finalized on December 8 and that he was always supportive of Noella. According to the lawyer, he was thrilled his ex-wife had been cast on The Real Housewives of Orange County and revealed they had been vetted years before she officially joined the show. James went on to say he noticed a “change” in Noella, essentially blaming the mother of his child for the failed marriage. Noella quickly took to her social media to debunk his claims.

While James came to the conclusion that Noella chose the show over their marriage, the rookie has a different take on their split. The mother of one shared that most of what James said in his video is a lie, nothing it was the first time in five months James had reached out to her. Noella said that James wanted to use The Real Housewives of Orange County to help promote his business. Noella blasted James for getting botox and seeing friends but failing to visit with his own son. The couple is clearly not in a good place, with viewers hoping for more explanation on what went wrong.

The newest season hasn’t even fully gotten underway, but Noella and James’ divorce is already a huge storyline. Needless to say, Noella will make a name for herself and solidify a place within the housewife franchise. Season 16 kicked off on December 1, with viewers finally watching Heather Dubrow’s triumphant return. It should be an interesting season for both the returning and new housewives, with viewers hoping Noella can catch a break.
