Lea Black was on The Real Housewives of Miami for three seasons and fans are disappointed that she didn’t return for the long-awaited season four. RHOM first aired in 2011, but the franchise didn’t renew for season 4 due to low ratings. After eight years, Peacock has renewed the show by bringing in some new faces. such as Dr. Nicole Martin, as well as veterans Alexia Echevarria, Lisa Hochstein, and Larsa Pippen. Adriana De Moura and Marysol Patton are back as “friends.” Fans have wondered why Lea was conspicuously missing from the group. Luckily, she has shared why she didn’t return, and how she’s been keeping busy following season 3.

Lea has stated that if she came back to The Real Housewives of Miami, the show would have to be different. On the podcast, Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef, she explained that she had several conversations with the casting person and producers and that the format of the show would basically be the same as it was during the first three seasons. RHOM alum Lea also said that she wasn’t even in Miami during filming. Lea and her husband Roy Black have homes in Los Angeles, Coral Gables, and Key Largo, and divide their time between all three locations.

Besides running her infamous charity, The Blacks’ Annual Gala, which was featured on RHOM, Lea keeps people entertained with her podcast, Lunch With Lea Black. Lea touches on subjects like entertainment news, celebrity gossip, current events, and business advice. Lea also makes guest appearances on real-life friend Jeff Lewis’s radio show, “Jeff Lewis Live.” Lea is also the boss babe of her skincare line, Lea Black Beauty. Lea started her business in the skincare industry in 1985. Since then, she has expanded her line and has a full skincare line, from toners to hydrating oils. Lea’s Instagram mostly showcases posts promoting Lea Black Beauty, and according to comments, her line is a great success.

Former housewife Lea is very active on Twitter, and as a self-proclaimed “political junkie,” she tweets mostly about politics. Lea’s son RJ Black seems to be following in his mother’s footsteps. His tweets are mostly breaking news, with political overtones. The two seem to share the same outspoken traits. Lea was recently criticized by RHOM fans for defending The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi, by claiming that wives aren’t always privy to their husbands’ financial interactions. While Lea has a very public presence, her son RJ leads a private life, and there are very few pictures of him on the Internet.

Another talent that Lea has up her designer sleeves is writing. She authored a book called Red Carpets & White Lies, in 2015, which seems to be loosely based on her life. The main character is named Leigh and hosts a star-studded annual charity ball, just like Lea. The book is about the scandalous lives of Miami’s elite, and fans are sure to guess who the characters are based on in real life. Although Lea is no longer joining her former co-stars on The Real Housewives of Miami, fans have plenty of different ways to keep tabs on her latest ventures.
