Melissa and Joe Gorga from The Real Housewives of New Jersey lived in their $2.5 million mansion for 13 years, since the beginning stages of their marriage. The couple raised their three children in this home and created a lot of family memories there. After more than four years of putting the house on and off the market, Melissa and Joe were finally able to sell their infamous mansion and move on to their next New Jersey abode.

The couple previously leased a home back in 2016 and moved into a temporary rental space until they found a permanent place to stay. Unfortunately, the deal with their tenant fell through, and the two were forced to move back into the mansion. Viewers thought they would never leave again and would make their Montville home their permanent residence. Eventually, Melissa and Joe decided to put the home up for sale again for $3.5 million. The pair were unable to get the price they wanted and had to make a price cut of a million dollars. Now, the reality stars are ready for a fresh start in a new home.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Melissa and Joe’s former New Jersey mansion is 9,100-square feet and sits on 2.25 acres of private property, reported Dirt.com. Inside, the massive home includes six bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. Besides the bedrooms and bathrooms, the home features a recording studio, Hampton-style pool, movie theater, two-story library, gym, hair salon, wine boutique, and custom lounge. Other key features included in the home are the double bridal staircase in the main foyer, a large granite island in the kitchen, plus a beautiful marble fireplace in the great room. The exterior of the home was iconic amongst RHONJ fans for its keyhole windows and castle-like rooftop.

When the home was previously on the market in 2016, it looked exactly as it did when they first built the house. In order to attract more buyers to their listing, Melissa and Joe had to make some cosmetic changes to their mansion. They completely repainted their dining room and switched out their traditional dining set for something more modern. The massive cut in the price tag also helped the Gorgas sell their home faster. The couple previously bought the property for $950,000 and put it on the market years later for $3.8 million. They ended up selling the home for 2.5 million with relator Joshua Baris of N.J. Lux Real Estate.

Now that the Gorgas sold their infamous Montville home, they have decided to move to the affluent area of Franklin Lakes, far from Teresa Giudice’s new home with her boyfriend, Luis Ruelas. Melissa and Joe have been attempting to sell their house for many years, and they finally found the perfect buyer. While fans of RHONJ will miss their legendary residence, the couple could not be happier to finally build their second home together.
