RHONJ: Why Margaret Josephs Blasted Bill’s Secret Affair

During The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12 premiere, Margaret revealed that Jennifer Aydin’s husband Bill Aydin had a secret affair, and she explained why she spilled the beans. RHONJ‘s Jennifer and Margaret’s relationship has been contentious for years and the two never seemed to resolve their issues. Jennifer has criticized Margaret for having an affair with her husband Joe Benigno before they got married. She also “slut-shamed” Margaret for sleeping with her boss at her first job, even though Margaret was sharing to the other housewives how she was very young at the time and felt coerced.

When Margaret blurted out Bill’s decade-old affair at Teresa Giudice’s party, the housewives were shocked. Without missing a beat, Jennifer confirmed the rumor by yelling that it was with a pharmaceutical rep. Jennifer has publicly spoken about the affair since, sharing that she was planning to take this secret with her to her grave. Jennifer from RHONJ claimed that she didn’t tell a soul, not even her close friends and family. However, Margaret insisted that everyone already knew about it and that she had known even before Jennifer came on the show.

Margaret shared with ET that a culmination of events led her to feel so frustrated with Jennifer that she had to blast her secret. After years of Jennifer talking negatively about Margaret and her loved ones, Margaret expected an apology but never got one. At Teresa’s party, Margaret felt that Jennifer constantly put on an act that her marriage was perfect, and Margaret was fed up with the hypocrisy. While Jennifer kept judging Margaret’s life and marriage, Margaret from RHONJ claimed Jennifer puts Bill “on a pedestal” and always asserts that “he’s the greatest.” However, with his affair being public knowledge, Margaret claims, “He’s really no different than myself, my husband, and other people. He’s just the same person.”

Margaret’s other bone to pick with Jennifer is that she tried digging up supposed skeletons in Margaret’s closet, as well as fellow RHONJ star Jackie Goldschneider’s. Last season, Teresa spread a rumor that Jackie’s husband Even Goldschneider was cheating on her. There was no proof but Jennifer still asked around to find out if it was true. Jackie was understandably furious when she found out that Jennifer was trying to dig up dirt on her husband, especially with everything Jackie and Evan from RHONJ were dealing with last season. The two never got along, but this season, Jackie tried to mend fences with Jennifer. She even offered support through her troubles that stemmed from Bill’s infidelity.

Fans love Jennifer for the drama she brings, but most agree that she needs to take accountability for her actions. This season, viewers will see Jennifer dealing with the fallout from Margaret outing Bill’s affair. Although it happened over ten years ago, Jennifer said she had just brushed it under the rug and never talked about it since. She credits this season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey for being cathartic and allowing her and RHONJ‘s Bill to face their past and says that their marriage is stronger than ever.
