The Real Housewives of New York City’s Carole Radziwill made a clear comparison between Meghan Markle and her dear friend, Carolyn Bessett Kennedy. The former housewife had close personal ties to her friends and could relate to the royal struggle.

The author herself married into a well-known family, the Kennedys when she said “I do” to Anthony Radziwill, who was the son of Lee Radziwill, the younger sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The marriage made the reality star a princess, but she never used the title. Prince Harry and Markle finally sat down for an interview where they laid it all out and totally demolished The Firm.

Bravo fans knew that Radziwill was close with John F Kennedy Jr. and his wife since she married his cousin, and the journalist wasted no time in noting the similarities between the two women. While Markle may have been a member of the royal family, Bessett was a member of the only American “royal” family, the Kennedys. The former housewife did as she always does and took to Twitter to share that Markle marrying into the monarchy in 2018 reminded her of her best friend saying, “I just watched the M&H sit down, Wow. I love how people say Meghan knew what she was getting into…” Check out the post below:

The journalist drew everyone’s attention back to the 1996 wedding, where many people had said the same sentiment about Bessett. Radziwill seemingly defended Markle by also writing that no one ever knows the true story saying, “Meghan said it right the perception is nothing like the reality.” The couple drew some eerie comparisons as both had a media frenzy around them and could not catch a break from the paparazzi. Markle opened up about not feeling safe with The Palace doing very little to help them.

Radziwill herself has often spoken about her good friends and the scrutiny they received on a daily basis, saying that the media hounded her and her husband before their tragic deaths in 1999. At least, the royal couple has somewhat succeeded in getting out of the trap after moving to California a year ago. Radziwill just wanted fans to take a step back, pause, and really think about what these couples had to endure when all they wanted was to live a semi-normal life out of the prying eye of the media.
