RHONY: Tinsley Mortimer & Scott Kluth’s Relationship & Breakup Timeline

Tinsley Mortimer from The Real Housewives of New York City has been in an on-and-off relationship with Scott Kluth since they met on a blind date in February 2017. After years of ups and downs, the couple became serious, with Scott promising Tinsley an engagement. His promise prompted Tinsley to leave the Housewives and begin a new life in Chicago with Scott. The couple got engaged shortly after she stopped filming and began her new fairytale life. Her dreams came crashing down after Scott announced this month that they are no longer together.

Viewers first met Tinsley when she joined RHONY at the beginning of season nine. She was working to rebuild her career and reputation after getting arrested for trespassing on her ex-boyfriend’s property. She moved in with fellow RHONY castmate Sonja Morgan until she was able to move out and be on her own. Soon after joining the series, Tinsley was introduced to Scott, and the pair have been in a whirlwind romance ever since. Now, it seems the relationship will never be able to be repaired.

In February 2017, Tinsley and Scott first met on a blind date set up by former castmate Carole Radziwill, which was shown during an episode of RHONY (via Life & Style). The couple was joined by Carole and her boyfriend at the time, Adam. Tinsley and Scott hit it off immediately, even sharing a kiss the first night. Later in the episode, Tinsley revealed their first date lasted for several days. The couple spent the whole summer of 2017 together, traveling around the world. When at home, Tinsley spent most of her time with Scott in Chicago, even attending the music festival Lollapalooza together. They spent Scott’s fortieth birthday in Montenegro. In October 2017, Tinsley and Scott broke up for the first time. She fell for him and was heartbroken by the split. However, during this time, she and Scott were still in contact, but he could never commit to Tinsley. She tried to move on, but her heart was always calling her back to Scott. Thankfully, by June 2018, the pair were seemingly back together as Tinsley shared photos of her and Scott in Paris. They celebrated Scott’s birthday once again. Since this trip, Tinsley and Scott were on and off once more, even confusing her castmates of RHONY on the status of their relationship. At one point, Tinsley was dating a man named Bruce, but the pair broke up after a few months together.

In September 2019, Tinsley and Scott were spotted having dinner together in Niagara Falls, sparking rumors of a reconciliation. She announced she and Scott were back together. Shortly after, Tinsley left RHONY and moved to Chicago to be with Scott. Less than a month later, Scott proposed to Tinsley. In May 2020, the couple seemed madly in love while quarantining together in Chicago with their two dogs, Strawberry and Shortcake. Tinsley even shared a cute photo of her and Scott wearing their face masks while holding their adorable pups. She wrote in the caption, “Ain’t no quarantine gang like mine! My little family makes me the happiest person in the world!!! I love you so much, Scott!!“

On March 18, 2021, Scott gave a statement to People announcing he and Tinsley broke off their engagement. “While I understand this news will be of interest to many, I ask for privacy and understanding during this time as I continue to work on recovering emotionally from the end of our relationship,” he said. Tinsley was reportedly blindsided by the news. Scott has been playing with Tinsley’s emotions ever since they first met four years ago. The constant breaking up and getting back together did not help create a solid foundation to build a relationship. Now that they are officially no longer together, viewers of RHONY want Tinsley to move back to New York and come back to the show.
