RHONY: What Aviva Drescher Has Been Up To Since Season Six

Aviva Drescher was a part of The Real Housewives of New York City cast for seasons five and six and has since put that life behind her. As the two-season wonder was introduced to the series, she explained how she lost her leg in a horrific farm accident when she was only six years old. Aviva was forced to get her leg amputated below the knee. She has been wearing a prosthetic ever since.

While the audience felt bad for Aviva in the beginning, those feelings quickly faded after she attacked some of the women. During her first season, the ladies were skeptical of Aviva because she always wanted to be with her husband, Reid. When the women planned a trip to St. Barts, Aviva wasn’t sure she would be able to go without Reid, due to her fear of flying. The ladies questioned their co-dependent relationship.

During the final The Real Housewives of New York City season six episode, Aviva threw her prosthetic leg across the room in a fit of rage, and that was the last straw for the women. That moment of high drama is now iconic across all of the shows in the Real Housewives franchise. It’s a moment that will never be forgotten.

Fans want to know what the former housewife is up to now. Since leaving RHONY, Aviva has maintained a low profile for the most part. According to her @avivadrescher Instagram, she has shifted her focus from reality TV to her children. Aviva has a son Harrison from her previous marriage to Harry Dubin, as well as son Hudson and daughter Sienna with her husband, Reid. Recently, the mother-of-three shared a video of her and her daughter Sienna dancing to a routine her daughter is learning from her dance teacher. Aviva gave the teacher Sean a shout-out in her caption by leaving his number. Besides spending quality time with her family, Aviva still keeps in touch with a few of her former costars, including former fashion designer Heather Thomson, who made a short comeback this year.

In September 2020, Heather revealed on an episode of Watch What Happens Live that she and Aviva have been able to bury the hatchet since they last appeared on RHONY together (via BravoTV). “I actually just sent her a birthday message. [Aviva’s husband Reid Drescher] put together a whole tape of people giving her birthday messages, and I was a part of that,” Heather shared with Andy Cohen. “Yeah, I don’t hold grudges; I move on.” As long as Aviva isn’t throwing her leg across any table, Heather is more than happy to be friends with her.

Other than Heather, Aviva appears to still be friendly with Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan, as she follows both of them on Instagram. Besides seemingly remaining friendly with former costars, Aviva is also promoting A Step Ahead Prosthetics, which gives patients the tools and resources necessary to achieve their goals. She has been sharing information about their CBD creams, which are specifically made for people who wear prosthetics.

Since leaving The Real Housewives of New York Cityin 2014, Aviva has been putting her focus on her family. She is also helping those who wear prosthetics as she does. While fans may miss her as a part of the group, Aviva doesn’t see herself returning anytime soon.
