RHOP: Monique Samuels Reveals She’s Relieved to Be Off the Franchise

Monique Samuels from The Real Housewives of Potomac has revealed that she is relieved to be off the franchise after a rough last season. She essentially left the show because almost none of the women wanted to film with her.

Fans watched last season as the star of The Real Housewives of PotomacMonique Samuels faced assault charges after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with Candiace Dillard Basset. The usually quiet Monique stunned her fans when they heard what she had been accused of. The young mother was an instant fan favorite and was usually the housewife trying to mend friendships – not destroy them. The two feisty housewives were, at one time, close friends. However, in season 4, their close sisterhood fell apart. A winery trip turned into an all-out brawl.

Monique has finally been able to open up about her decision to leave the show, and she sat down on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast to talk it out. First, the reality star opened up about her decision to leave the show, saying that Bravo had ignored her when she wanted to discuss the incident. Monique told listeners, “I was not even getting press opportunities. They tried to ban me from doing press.” 

The Potomac housewife was going to make up for lost time as she went to describe the “craziness.” “I was like, the disrespect!” she said. “I just felt like they were treating me less than a human.” Fans will recall that the episode in question aired last September and showed Monique putting her hands on Candiace as she tried to pull her hair. Monique is content at not returning to the franchise saying, “Then you fast forward to (the) reunion, and they put me in the wrong hotel…I just knew they must want to be done with me. Their actions said everything that would make you feel they’re done.”

Even though fans miss her, the new season is gearing up as the trailer for The Real Housewives of Potomac was recently dropped. It showed Robyn Dixon not wanting to get out of bed and Gizelle Bryant breaking up with her ex-husband again! The clip also showed Karen Huger possibly finding out Ray Huger has been chatting with another woman. The crew also seems to turn on Wendy Osefo. So, even without Monique, the women are bound to bring the drama.
