Karen Huger of The Real Housewives of Potomac is coming out with a new spin-off show on Bravo, centering around Karen and her family. Karen is married to Ray Huger and they share two adult children, Rayvin and Brandon. Karen and Ray recently celebrated their 25-year wedding anniversary in a lavish vow renewal ceremony on a RHOP episode. Although they had some rocky moments in the past, their marriage seems stronger than ever.

Karen is an OG of RHOP, starring as one of the main cast members for all of its 6 seasons. As a self-proclaimed Grande Dame of Potomac, she portrayed herself as the person to know around town. Originally from Surry County, Virginia, she was asked to head the homecoming parade, where she was greeted as a local celebrity. Recently, she was awarded ambassador to Surry County and given a key to the city. Hopefully, her new spin-off shows more of her background, as viewers would be interested to see more of Karen’s life before she became the Grande Dame.

In addition to Karen’s family life, fans will also get a peek into her business world. Karen launched a perfume named La’ Dame Fragrance, which is now being sold in Bloomingdales. In the current season of RHOP, she revealed that she was in the process of developing a candle line. Fans thought it was shady, given that fellow housewife Wendy Osefo confided to Karen about her desire to launch her own candle line. However, Karen differentiated her brand as being a three-wick candle, while Wendy’s candle was a mere one-wick. Karen’s candle has not hit the market yet, and it will be interesting if her new show filmed the process of developing it.

Karen is the first housewife of RHOP to score her own spin-off show. The first housewife to land a spin-off on Bravo was Jo De La Rosa of The Real Housewives of Orange County, with Date My Ex: Jo & Slade. Other ladies from the Real Housewives franchise with spin-offs are Kim Zolciak, Bethenny Frankel, Kandi Burness, and Porsha Williams. Porsha, who is not coming back to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is now the star of Porsha’s Family Matters, which centers around her engagement to Simon Guobadia.

There has been speculation by fans as to whether Karen’s spin-off show is a prelude to her leaving RHOP. Karen responded by tweeting, “The reach and speculation is REAL! Stay blessed, I AM!” The quote is a little cryptic, but it seems to imply that she’s not going anywhere. It is rumored that her new show will air on Bravo in early 2022, before the next season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. It will be interesting to see how Karen’s fellow castmates respond to it, and who will be supportive versus who will throw shade.
