RHOP: Why Candiace Dillard Bassett Saying She Wants Kids Triggered Ashley Darby

Why was Candiace Dillard Bassett of The Real Housewives of Potomac deciding to say she wanted to have children such a trigger for Ashley Darby. The two have just gotten back on track with their friendship but it looks like it is about to go downhill.

As Bravo fans are aware, Ashley had a horrible last season since her husband, Michael Darby, was accused by a former Bravo cameraman of having “grabbed and groped” his butt while filming. On top of that, Candiace made it her business to question if Ashley was really trying to get pregnant and continued to judge her for having a drink or two while trying to conceive. Thanks to her husband’s multiple incidents Ashley found she was given no support from the women, even after she gave birth to her son Dean.

It looks like it is time for Ashley to get her revenge on Candiace, who never apologized for going so hard at her while she was not only pregnant but giving birth to her son. Monique Samuels had asked Ashley to write a character witness about her and Candiace’s incident with the butter knife and she agreed, which in the end, upset the beauty queen.

Even though the ladies are still meant to be enjoying their time in Portugal, just don’t ask them to point it out on a map, there was the inevitable drama hanks to Ashley and Candiace stroking old flames of hate. In the past, the newlywed has not wanted children but has finally found room in her heart for one which the other housewives’ thought was a huge moment. Thanks to Gizelle Bryant, Ashley was brought into the conversation saying, “Never would I ever say to you, ‘You’ve always said you don’t want to have kids. I just hope you see that someone doubting what you say and the authenticity of what you said is very hurtful.” The lack of an official apology from Candiace who has never been known to be good with the “I’m sorry” is what triggered the new mom. She explained to the woman her position saying, “But you wouldn’t give me an apology for s—t. So while I’m trying to bury the hatchet, I still am taken back to hurtful things you said when I was going through a very trying time in my life.”

Naturally, Candiace tried to deflect by saying she did not want to go back and rehash their old issues. Ashley made a point of telling her frenemy that she wanted to be there for her but was finding it difficult to want to support her. Hopefully, the two will get back on track but fans are highly doubtful at this stage of the game.
