Jen Shah from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is known for her “Shah Squad,” including “assistant” Stuart Smith, and we’ve gathered some interesting facts about Stuart. Jen Shah made quite a name for herself on the show due to her hair-trigger temper and dramatic ways. She clashed with the rest of the cast, including Heather Gay and Mary Cosby. While an excellent platform for women, the Real Housewives franchise has brought attention to the legal problems of past and current cast members, such as Erika Girardi from RHOBH and Teresa Giudice from RHONJ. Now, Jen Shah is under fire, and fans are curious about her assistant.

One thing that was always consistent with Jen Shah was her “Shah Squad” (whom she’s been accused of abusing). This squad seemed to hover around her at all times. There were make-up artists and assistants. The reasons why some of these associates were hanging around Shah were not always clear. One such person was her “first assistant” Stuart Smith, who made several appearances during Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season one.

When it came to the show, Smith and Shah seemed to be as thick as thieves. Smith would drive Shah around in her amazing sports car. He would support her constantly and make sure she had whatever she needed. It was never clear exactly what business Jen Shah and the “Shah Squad” were conducting, and fans believed that her company was shady. Outside of his life with Jen Shah, there is not much known about Stuart Smith, other than the fact that he lives in Salt Lake City. He and Jen have apparently worked together since 2012.

2012 is the year that their alleged fraud started. It’s also alleged that Smith devoted almost a decade of his life to the fraud scheme. The alleged game targeted elderly people who wanted to create online businesses. In many cases, these people did not even own computers. The initial investment they made would never be returned. Then, Shah and Smith would allegedly give their list of victims to other people in their network.

Smith and Shah were arrested on March 30, 2021, and face federal charges. They have been ordered not to contact each other. They were also told to give up their passports, presumably to keep them from fleeing. If found guilty, they could face up to thirty years in prison. However, prosecutors may not have jail time in mind.

While Smith seemed to be Shah’s shadow for much of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, it looks like those days are over. Season 2 of the show is currently filming, although it is not yet confirmed whether cameras caught Shah and Smith’s arrest and arraignment.
