RHOSLC: Why Fans Think Meredith Marks Is Becoming ‘Less Likable’

Meredith Marks is under fire on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and among viewers who think she is becoming “less likable.” With Meredith being at the center of the current drama on the show, viewers are digging into everything they think she’s doing wrong. Between Lisa Barlow’s hot mic moment against her, Whitney Rose and Heather Gay accusing her of lying about her father’s memorial, and being friends with Mary Cosby, Meredith isn’t looking like the drama-free housewife she portrays on the show. Considering all of the allegations against Meredith, viewers are calling out her fall from grace.

RHOSLC season 2 managed to top all of the explosive moments seen in season 1. With Jen Shah getting arrested during filming, fans assumed season 2 would be all about her fraud charges. But Mary and Meredith have managed to steal the spotlight from Jen with their alleged secret lifestyles. Mary is facing allegations of running her church like a cult, in addition to the wildly racist comments she’s made towards Jen and Jennie Nguyen. Meanwhile, Meredith is facing suspicions regarding her alleged involvement with Jen’s arrest. The inklings have led to assumptions from Whitney and Heather that Meredith even lied about her father’s memorial so that she could possibly skip the bus ride where Jen ended up getting arrested.

For some time now, Meredith has been adamantly denying the claims and accusing her RHOSLC co-stars of not being her real friends. While some RHOSLC viewers feel sympathetic towards Meredith being targeted, others are noting the part she’s played in all of the drama. After watching the latest episode, a Reddit thread discussed “The problem with Meredith and why she is becoming less likable.” While noting how Meredith used to be one of their “favorites” in season 1, the Redditor blasted her “messy” antics in the second season. “My thing with Meredith is that she’s messy and she doesn’t own it because she wants to put on this veneer of class. She’s just as messed up as the other ladies but she acts superior,” they quipped.

A commenter noted how Meredith’s personality also makes her less relatable. “I feel like the best housewives have a sense of humor. Meredith comes across as utterly humorless,” they said. One fan believes Meredith and Mary were already mentally checked out from the drama associated with being a housewife. “I think she and Mary are both just miserable on that show and are not getting what they wanted out of signing up to do it,” they wrote. Season 1 saw a much more calm and reserved Meredith despite being verbally attacked by Jen Shah. However, Meredith still had a few friends on the cast other than Mary. In season 2, the dynamic has shifted between Meredith and Lisa as they started arguing and hurling accusations at each other.

Considering the number of enemies Meredith currently has on the cast, it’s understandable why she’s might be trying to avoid them. Alas, Meredith’s suspicious response to Jen’s arrest has the cast and viewers wondering how much she might not be revealing. With The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 2 reunion approaching, Meredith will get confronted about all the allegations. Mary has chosen to skip the reunion altogether, so Meredith likely had no allies on her side. With that said, maybe being the target will help Meredith redeem herself among viewers next season.
