Nicole Martin is new to The Real Housewives of Miami, but her fierce independence, estranged relationship with her father, and bright blonde hair and doe eyes are eerily reminiscent of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Whitney Rose. Both women never hold back from sharing their two cents and know how to stick to their guns. Whitney went overboard asking about Meredith Mark’s father’s funeral but failed to lay in on Jen Shah’s legal turmoil.  Whitney is on her second season of Salt Lake City and is an original cast member, whereas Nicole is new to RHOM but a strong force in the season 4 reboot.

The settings of Utah versus Miami have some significant cultural differences. Religion, specifically Mormonism, reigns over the RHOSLC plot lines, but Whitney and her newfound cousin Heather Gay consider themselves “bad Mormons.” Whitney left behind her “Mormon Royalty” heritage and divorced her first husband for the love of her life and former employer, Justin Rose, with whom she shares two children. Religion doesn’t seem to have as significant an impact on Nicole. Rather, Nicole’s backstory centered on her partnership but not yet marriage with Anthony Lopez, her career as an Anesthesiologist, and how her lavish upbringing turned to ashes when her father went to prison, and her mother was left to pick up the pieces.

Nicole and Whitney’s age, appearance, and backstories ring similar, along with big opinions. Whitney can relate to a rocky relationship with her dad, as she shared her efforts to support his sobriety in season one and his unfortunate disappearance from her life in RHOSLC season 2. Nicole also made an effort to connect with her father on RHOM in her first season, but after he arrived blatantly drunk to lunch, she admitted she wasn’t sure what the future held for them. Nicole seems a little more secure than Whitney is in her career. Nicole is a doctor with numerous medical certifications, is a member of multiple associations of anesthesiologists, teaches and lectures, and has co-written several book chapters and scientific articles. On the other hand, Whitney runs a skincare line she recently rebranded as Wild Rose Beauty but is still working out the kinks to make it profitable.

The women could share professional tips while also trading advice on how to hold their own as some of the youngest housewives with the biggest backbones. Nicole wasn’t afraid to hold her own when queen bee Marysol Patton roasted her for potentially spreading gossip about Larsa Pippen. By the end of the season, Nicole believed there was more to Larsa than the media portrays. After Alexia Echevarria’s mom passed away, Nicole won Marysol over with her effort to unite the women. Meanwhile, Whitney seemed to be at the center of every group conflict on the RHOSLC, eager to prompt questions to everyone regarding Jen Shah’s upcoming trial and the demise of Lisa Barlow and Meredith’s friendship. She also seems to find a way to stay on most of the cast’s good side despite continually stirring the pot.

Ultimately, Whitney may be a tad more attracted to conflict than Nicole. Nicole is level-headed at all times, whereas Whitney likes to drunkenly egg on a conversation. Sometimes, RHOSLC fans think Whitney forces storylines.  This is one area where Nicole could teach the veteran Housewife something about mellowing out. Then again, there’s always a loudmouth and a stoic voice of reason on every season of The Real Housewives of Miami and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and the women may have already carved out their positions.
