Robert Pattinson claims that Spider-Man: No Way Home actor Tom Holland manifested playing the Marvel superhero six years ago. Back then, Holland and Pattinson were working together on the film The Lost City of Z, which tells the true story of British explorer Major Percival Fawcett, who disappeared during his search for a mysterious Amazon city in the 1920s. The film was helmed by James Gray and was released to mixed reviews in 2016.

Of course, both actors have seen quite exciting career developments since the release of The Lost City of Z. Holland is now best known as everyone’s favorite web-slinging superhero, Spider-Man, in the MCU. Pattinson himself has recently found his way into the superhero world as well, and his upcoming performance in The Batman will make him the latest in a long line of movie stars to have played the Caped Crusader on the big screen. Both actors have actually appeared together again, in the Netflix original The Devil All the Time.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Pattinson shares that he thinks Holland manifested the role of Spider-Man while on the set of The Lost City of Z. According to Pattinson, while the two actors were on set, Holland “was wearing a Spider-Man outfit.” The only explanation for this that he could come up with was that “he really manifested that part!” Naturally, Kimmel was slightly confused and asked for clarification as to whether Holland was wearing a Spider-Man shirt, or a full costume. Pattinson responds by saying, “it was like a proper costume.” Check out the full quote below:

I actually worked with Tom Holland when I did this movie called The Lost City of Z, years ago. And he was… I think he hadn’t even been cast as Spider-Man, and he was wearing a Spider-Man outfit when I was shooting that movie… He really manifested that part! Like, I mean, he was wearing a Spider-Man– I swear to God, like we were in Colombia, and I’m almost, 99% certain he wasn’t cast yet! […] It was like, it looked like a proper costume. And we were, like, in the middle of nowhere in Colombia, and with no one around, there’s no one – no one witnessed this except for me.

Oddly enough, this wouldn’t be the first time that Holland has been discovered to have manifested his own destiny. When Holland was younger, he was asked at an event what superhero he would like to play, and he responded with Spider-Man. He once admitted in an interview that his first celebrity crush was Zendaya, and the two starred together in the MCU’s Spider-Man films before eventually becoming romantically involved. Finally, Holland once named Uncharted as his favorite video game, and he can now be seen in the movie adaptation as the film’s lead, Nathan Drake.

It seems that Pattinson was on to something when he said that he thought Holland may have manifested the role. As Kimmel stated in the interview, Holland truly stands as proof that “dreams do come true.” It certainly makes one wonder if fans should be skimming through Holland’s old interviews to try and guess what the Spider-Man: No Way Home star might accidentally (or on purpose) manifest into existence next.
