There really is an impressive amount of things for players to do in Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos. Not only are there numerous dungeons that the player will need to complete as part of the main quest, but they can also check out several optional dungeons, discover a host of secrets tucked away in parts of the map, and even engage in several different side quests. Whether playing in single-player or online players will have a lot to do.

One of the earliest side quests that players will acquire is one about getting the old farm up and running, but this can’t be done without first breaking into an old barn to get some tools. This sounds a lot easier than it actually is and odds are players will spend quite a bit of time and effort getting this farm up and going. This guide shows players how to open up the barn and how to get the farm running.

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos – How to Get The Farm

The very first thing that players will need to do for this quest is getting their hands on the farm to begin with. Players will need to attempt at least one run at the first dungeon before speaking to Griff inside his workshop. Here the player will be able to purchase and place different buildings in their village, one of which is the farm. This village placement is very expensive for the early game at 400 gems though, so more than likely the player will need to spend a lot of time grinding to get to a point where they can buy this.

Once they do though they will then need to walk over to the farm in their village and speak to Grant the farmer. Grant will inform the player that he doesn’t have the tools to work on this farm, but that he does know where you can get the watering can at least and points you towards an old barn to the east of the village. Sadly though the door of this barn has completely rusted shut, so no amount of effort will allow the player to open it at this time. There might just be a special tool that can crack this door open though.

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos – Speaking to Nik and Getting the Bomb Bag

Who better to speak to about getting a new tool than the resident tool expert in town Nik. The player will need to go back to their village and go speak to Nik inside of his lab. By talking to him he will inform the player that he knows of a special ancient glove that is locked deep inside of a temple to the northwest. This glove is called the Kezar fist and it is perfect for knocking loose a rusty door.

Before they can go check out this ancient temple though the player will first need to invest in a bomb bag to get past some barriers that lead inside the temple. The bomb bag will cost the player six bone shards and four grazer horns. Bone shards will be acquired by defeating skeletons found inside dungeons and grazer horns are acquired by defeating grazers throughout the world. With these in hand the player can get their bomb bag and head straight to the Kezar Temple.

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos – The Kezar Temple and the Fist

Players will need to head to the northeast to find Kezar temple. They will need to travel like they are going to the first dungeon to the east. Eventually the player will come across a crossroads with one path going north and the other crossing a bridge, and they should continue north. After this they can then go east across another bridge, but instead of passing to the next screen, they should instead follow the river bank to the north again. As the player heads north they will eventually stumble across three statues that are blocking their path. The new bombs that the player is in possession of are able to blow these statues right up though.

With those statues removed the player should go west towards the waterfall in order to enter a cave. Here they will need to fight through several enemies in order to come out on the other side of the waterfall. There will then be a path ahead of them that will continue upwards and take the player through several more enemy-filled caves before they reach the highest point of this area. They will need to defeat two skeletons nearby and then enter the final cave here to enter the Kezar Temple.

Once here the player will see two stone slabs against the north wall. They will need to stand on either side of the slabs and push them out of the way of the doorway. From here they will just have to follow the pathway through the temple and defeat any enemies that get in their way. Very few of these enemies will present much of a challenge, so a fairly leveled character should have no problem fighting their way through. Eventually the player will come across a room full of waterfalls that has a chest in the center of the room. This chest will contain the Kezar Fist.

With the Kezar Fist in hand, the player is now able to smash any rock formations in their path like the stalactites that can be found all throughout the Kezar temple. Players will want to break through these and make their way back through the temple in order to get their way back to the entrance.

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos – Getting Inside the Barn

With the Kezar fist in hand, the player can finally get their way inside that rusty barn. To get there from the temple the player will basically need to backtrack the way they came until they find themselves back at the statues they blew up earlier. From here they will want to travel south again and go back across the bridge they crossed earlier and then go south again. Now they will want to go east across the bridge then follow the path until it splits. The player can then follow it north to find the barn.

Now the player will just want to switch to the Kezar Fist, walk up to the barn door, and give it a really good smack. This will break off enough of the rust that the player is then able to walk over to the left side and push until the door is opened up. If the player goes inside to explore they will find their newfound prize: the watering can. If the player wants to start up a farm now all they have to do is collect the resources to craft a shovel, find different seeds to plant, and they will be good to go. Keep in mind that a farm expansion can be purchased and both the shovel and watering can are able to be upgraded in order to make farming an easier experience.

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos can be played on PC and Nintendo Switch.
