The reality series Drag Race España has found its very own RuPaul in the form of the multitalented drag queen Supremme de Luxe, and we’ve gathered facts about this Spanish star. She is a queen with decades of acting, singing, and drag performance experience under her belt. For this reason, Supremme is as qualified as RuPaul to crown España’s Next Drag Superstar from the cast of competing drag queens.

Supremme de Luxe was born on January 6, 1979, in Fuenlabrada, Spain. As a 42-year-old drag veteran, Supremme is seasoned enough to take on the responsibility of hosting Drag RaceEspaña. Supremme began her career as a drag queen when she was only 19 and living in Madrid during the late ’90s. Like Ru, this Spanish queen is no stranger to the hustle. She’s worked hard to make it to the top. Supremme was ushered into the world of drag when she refused to join Spain’s military service. She began doing cabaret to make ends meet. Since her early start as a drag performer, the international Drag Race queen has been traveling the world, working in various niches of the entertainment industry, including film, television, radio, and theater.

Any drag queen who aspires to reach RuPaul’s level of prominence must be a jack of all trades. Season after season, RuPaul’s Drag Race challenges its contestants in an assortment of ways. Contestants must be able to construct runway looks, act in comedy challenges, and lip-sync for their lives. Supremme has a distinguished resumé, so she’s a drag queen worthy to lead RuPaul’s Spanish spinoff. She joins other worldwide heirs, including Thai host Pangina Heals and Canadian host Brooke Lynn Hytes (Kyne memorably went “full Pearl” on Brooke Lynn). Supremme has done her drag act all over Spain and is one of the most popular drag performers in the nation. From stage to screen, Supremme de Luxe has made a name for herself as a well-rounded drag queen. She reigns in Spain and worldwide.

One of Supremme’s most successful ventures (which left her poised to claim the Spanish iteration of RuPaul’s throne) is her stage show, Que Trabaje Rita. She hosts that show, which has been running since 2013. It’s expanded globally, much like Drag Race. Que Trabaje Rita has been established in Barcelona and Paris. Like Bob the Drag Queen (she recently reflected on her experiences), who got a role in We’re Here, Supremme was gearing up to take onscreen parts before Drag Race España. In 2018, Supremme landed an acting gig as the character “Oil” in the Spanish short film, “Daddy Dearest.” Supremme has also landed a starring role in the upcoming musical film, The Phantom of the Sauna, which is currently in pre-production. Additionally, Supremme has a career as a musician. She released the 2012 album Ahora Yo, along with several other singles.

She can be found posting on her @supremmedeluxe Instagram page. Supremme has amassed over 29,000 followers. Beyond using her social media platform to promote the imminent season of Drag Race España, Supremme regularly posts her accolades, upcoming events, and fierce drag looks for her fans. Supremme is followed by a variety of Drag Race stars, including Manila Luzon, Willam, and Scorpio RuPaul’s best friend, Virgo Michelle Visage. Supremme recently took to her Instagram to announce May 30 as the premiere date of RuPaul’s Drag Race España.

RuPaul’s decision to hand the Drag Race España mantle to Supremme de Luxe was a no-brainer. As Supremme de Luxe sets off on her search for Spain’s First Drag Superstar, fans will get the chance to discover what made Supremme RuPaul’s top pick. Supremme is prepared to induct Spain into RuPaul’s Queendom. Fans can’t wait.
