Symone is now officially the reigning champion of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13, and the fans are dying to know what she’s been up to since filming the season. The self-proclaimed Ebony Enchantress had been a frontrunner to win season 13 all along. At the premiere, she defeated Atlanta legend Tamisha Iman in their first-ever lip sync on the show. Symone then went on to win the “Winners’ Circle” maxi challenge, as well as the season’s first acting challenge. As the season went on, she won twice more: the makeover challenge in episode 10 and the soda commercial challenge in episode 11.

With such a stellar streak, Symone went into the Drag Race season 13 finale as the frontrunner. Even though she had two Bottom Two placements, Symone’s stellar track record still made her the queen to beat. While there is always room for epic failures in the Lip Sync For The Crown format, the fans had a hard time picturing Symone screwing up her chance at snatching the crown during such a decisive moment. Unsurprisingly, Symone fought her way to the very top and was ultimately crowned the winner of season 13 by RuPaul.

Since being on the show, Symone has already received shout-outs and praise from the likes of Rihanna and Lizzo. In a feature story in the Los Angeles Times that also included L.A. queen and season 13 finalist Gottmik, Symone’s drag was praised for delivering “an ‘unapologetically Black’ blend of sass and class.” The queen was also noticed by none other than British Vogue, which remarked on Symone’s “ability to use drag as a platform for political activism  – while looking remarkably directional in the process.” It is clear that Symone is making a lot of noise since first appearing on Drag Race, and she’s already garnered over 700,000 followers on Instagram.

Fresh off her RuPaul’s Drag Race crowning, Symone is now working on the Avalon TV: Plugged In! event that she is putting together with her House of Avalon peers. Featuring an exclusive performance from Symone and season 12 finalist Gigi Goode, this live-stream will be taking place on May 9, 2021. Symone is also creating exclusive video content for her YouTube channel, which currently has over 20,000 subscribers. The COVID-19 pandemic has unfortunately slowed down the careers of queens that were featured in seasons 12 and 13, but Symone’s fans will certainly be there once the world recovers from this era and she can tour again.

May the RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 winner’s reign be long and prosperous! Hopefully, this pandemic will be defeated soon enough for the fans to get the opportunity to watch Symone on a live stage in the near future.
