Ryan Reynolds Shares Touching Tribute To Betty White

Ryan Reynolds has shared a touching tribute to the late Betty White. White, a beloved actress best known for her role in The Golden Girls as Rose Nylund, passed away on December 31 at age 99. Family, friends, and fans across the globe have united in their shared grief as they remember the legendary actress and all of her accomplishments.

Reynolds and White worked alongside each other in 2009’s The Proposal, where Reynolds played White’s character’s grandson. The pair continued to have a public, humorous friendship after the film. Even as recent as this week, White made a joke during an interview about how Reynolds couldn’t get over her, a reference to how Reynolds would often refer to White as his ex-girlfriend.

In a touching tribute, Reynolds posted on Twitter saying “The world looks different now. She was great at defying expectation…” His tweet was accompanied by a photo of the late star smiling and giving a thumbs up, taken from a promotional clip she starred in for Deadpool, in which Reynolds plays the lead. White was due to celebrate her 100th birthday on the January 17, 2022, only weeks away, and was still taking part in interviews this past week. White’s final project, Betty White: 100 Years Young – A Birthday Celebration, was due to release on the 17th to coincide with the star’s milestone birthday celebrations. The film, which features White and her friends, including Reynolds and many others, will share stories from White’s career and life. Producers have confirmed that the release of the celebratory documentary will still go ahead as planned.
