Here’s what happened at the end of the Saga Of Tanya The Evil movie. Saga Of Tanya The Evil – The Movie is based on the light novel series of the same name by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki, that’s also known by its Japanese title Youjo Senki. The Youjo Senki light novels have also been adapted into an anime show and manga series which tells the tale of a nine-year-old orphan girl named Tanya Degurechaff, who has magical powers and lives in an alternate version of early 2oth century Europe that mirrors the real-world conflicts the continent endured during that era.

Despite her young age, Tanya rises through the military ranks of a nation known as the Empire that acts as an alternate equivalent of Imperial Germany but she’s no run-of-the-mill blonde anime girl. Unbeknown to everyone but Tanya she’s actually the reincarnation of a bitter, atheist Japanese salaryman who was condemned by an entity claiming to be God as he died for having too little faith. Dubbed “Being X”, the entity sends the salaryman to a turbulent time (i.e. alternate Europe) to truly test his faith and condemns the salaryman to an eternity in Hell if he either refuses to believe in God or fails to die of natural causes.

The Saga Of Tanya The Evil movie acts as a sequel to the anime series in which Tanya does everything she can to avoid the frontlines and an unnatural death in war. Along the way, she comes up against Colonel Anson Sioux whose death inspires his daughter Mary Sioux to join the Unified States Army to seek revenge. In the Saga Of Tanya The Evil movie, Tanya and her elite battalion of fellow mages take on the Russy Federation through which she meets her new nemesis Mary, whose unit is training in Moscow.

Not only is Mary a powerful mage like Tanya Degurechaff, but she’s also a devout believer in God that Being X has imbued with even more power. After Mary deduces Tanya played a part in her father’s death the pair engage in not one, but two blistering battles – the latter of which leaves Mary gravely wounded. A short time later, Tanya convinces her superiors to remove her from the frontlines so she can research battle tactics. Tanya gloats over her victory to Being X, assuming that she’ll be stuck safely in a desk job for the rest of the war.

However, just a couple of months later Tanya is informed by her superiors they’re so impressed with her research she and her battalion are being sent back to the frontlines to test out her tactics. The Saga Of Tanya The Evil movie ends with Tanya raging at her predicament, realizing that Being X has gained the upper hand once more.
