Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event will introduce its new Galaxy S22 smartphone series soon, but rumors of shipping delays are already surfacing, putting a damper on some of the excitement. Nevertheless, the latest phones are sure to feature the best processors and improved cameras. In addition, there have been plenty of hints that Samsung’s iconic S Pen will be included with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so there is plenty to look forward to despite any potential for slow shipping.

Samsung holds a Galaxy Unpacked event in the first quarter of the year and announced that this year’s first flagship smartphone announcement would come on Feb. 9, 2022. Reservations began to be accepted on Jan. 21, 2022, with pre-orders going live on the official announcement day. Customers that place orders in advance of the shipping date are rewarded with a $50 Samsung credit, which can be used to pay for accessories or other Samsung products during pre-order, so it’s a nice incentive to shop early.

According to a recent tweet from notable leaker Jon Prosser, shipping of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will be delayed due to supply chain issues. The Galaxy S 22 Ultra is said to be shipping on Feb. 25, while the Galaxy S22 and S22-Plus might have a much longer wait, shipping on Mar. 11, 2022. That’s nearly a one-month delay from the start of pre-orders and an onerous burden to place on eager shoppers. While Samsung makes some of the most popular phones globally, some customers will be tempted to look elsewhere. Samsung has posted a few teaser videos on YouTube to generate extra interest.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Details

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series has been subject to numerous leaks, and this looks to be an exciting upgrade over the previous generation. In particular, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to include an S Pen and have a slot to store it within the phone, just like a Galaxy Note. The Note series was discontinued but might live on with a different name. The processor for each Galaxy S22 model is expected to be Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and Samsung always gives the S-series its best screen technology, providing a bright, crisp, and vivid display with rugged Gorilla Glass protection.

These will be top-quality phones and are sure to have several advancements. While early rumors indicate the cameras might have similar specifications to the Galaxy S21 series, a Samsung teaser video implies that nighttime photos will be better. Other leaks reveal a different design for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, looking more like Samsung’s Note with flat ends and rounded edges. The S22 and S22-Plus might have the standard rounded corners associated with Samsung’s S-series.
