Schitt’s Creek came to a heartwarming, if bittersweet, close with the completion of season six–but did the series answer all of the questions fans hoped it would? No show is ever going to tie up every single loose string, nor should they–some mystery is necessary in order to leave space for viewer interpretation.

However, as great as the ending was, viewers often can’t help but surmise about the possible future of those beloved characters they spent five seasons with, and to wager what might have happened to them had the series continued; or what the creators might have chosen to include in those final moments of the last episode. That being said, what the show did choose to include was plentiful, and true to the quality of this classy, classic series.

10 We Still Want: To See Alexis And David’s Goodbye

The family had a goodbye all together, but after all that Alexis and David have gone through in their relationship it would have been nice to see how the two part ways–guesses are, it would be tearful, judging by how close they have become. And everyone is wondering how much they continue to see each other in the future, too.

9 We Got: Alexis’ Breakup

A surprise to many, Alexis’ breakup with Ted also brought her character arc to a satisfying close, even if it was also unfortunate. Ted was great for Alexis, bringing how her goofy side and allowing her to be a more comfortable version of herself. However, when they break up viewers are allowed to see how Alexis really needed the opportunity to live life independently, and how it’s easier to do so now that she’s had a truly healthy relationship.

8 We Still Want: To See Moira’s Show

Moira’s long-time soap opera, the subject of many a hilarious moment on the show, is meant to come back for a re-boot, sending her to California to re-start her life there with Johnny.

Viewers would love to see how this show turned out, and, if the high-profile stars that were suggested turned out to be in it, how Moira’s somewhat low-profile career changes.

7 We Got: Patrick and David’s Wedding

It would have been a hard pill to swallow if the show had ended without Patrick and David’s wedding. Luckily, the show basically does end on their wedding, with the final episode seeing everyone still in their clothes from the festivities from the day before–giving the final moments a celebratory note.

6 We Still Want: To See David and Patrick’s House

David and Patrick make the sudden decision to stay living in Schitt’s Creek rather than moving to New York. Viewers are allowed to see the outside of the house they are going to move in to, but nothing beyond this. One might wonder exactly how David makes a home, seeing as he’s only gotten a chance to express himself in the motel.

5 We Got: David Facing His Past

David wants desperately to move back to New York, and Patrick is even willing to adjust to the idea–until Stevie talks to him and makes him finally face himself. David’s realization that the only reason he wants to move back to NYC is to prove himself to his old friends is the last kernel of his old, toxic self that he needs to let go of before moving into a new life.

4 We Still Want: To See Schitt’s Creek Without The Family

The entirety of the show has featured the Rose family living in Schitt’s Creek, and at the finish, almost all of them are leaving.

David is the only one staying, and even he won’t be living in the motel, the place they all learned to call their home throughout the show. It makes one curious about what the show would look like in this new arrangement–but also might be for the best that viewers will never know.

3 We Got: Expansion Of The Business

The Roses accomplished a great win before the show was out, landing themselves an investor in their idea for taking on motels throughout the country. This idea never fully comes to fruition within the borders of the show, but promises itself as a symbol of hope that the show leaves viewers with.

2 We Still Want: Roland And Jocelyn’s Goodbye

Viewers never get to see how the Rose family bids Roland and Jocelyn goodbye. Then again, the only people present for Johnny and Moira leaving are the family itself, and Stevie. It’s implied that the re-painting of the town sign is Jocelyn and Roland’s form of goodbye, which is in a way perfect–although still a little sad not to see it face to face.

1 We Got: The Town Sign

The town sign, a point of conflict in earlier episodes, makes an appropriate (or inappropriate, depending on how you look at it) comeback in the very final moments of the series. Johnny Rose slows down the car on he and Moira’s way out of town, taking one last look back at the town sign to realize that while, much like with the town itself, they had found it disagreeable before, they now are made very much a part of it.
