Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek came to an end in 2020, and here’s where you can see the cast next. Schitt’s Creek aired for six seasons on CBC Television in Canada, and was released on Pop TV in the United States. Created by father-son duo Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy, the series follows the affluent Rose family as they’re forced to move into the small town Schitt’s Creek after losing everything they own. Schitt’s Creek was praised for its inclusive and heartwarming tone, and its sympathetic and nuanced portrayal of the Rose family as they reconnect with each other and their community.

Although already popular with critics, Schitt’s Creek made a larger mark on popular culture by making Emmys history in 2020. Its 15 Emmy nominations for season 6 made it the first comedy series to ever garner that many nominations for a final season. It got better at the awards show itself, as the four main cast members – the two aforementioned Levys, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy – all won Emmys for playing the four members of the Rose family, making Schitt’s Creek the first comedy or drama to win every single acting category in a single year. Following the show’s record-breaking Emmy’s sweep, it was announced that Schitt’s Creek would launch into national syndication and begin airing on Comedy Central.

For most of its run, Schitt’s Creek flew under the radar, and first picked up Emmy nominations in season 5 for Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. Following Pop TV’s streaming deal with Netflix, Schitt’s Creek became widely available in the United States and started gaining popularity, with ratings increasing until its final season. Schitt’s Creek was particularly praised for its portrayal of David’s sexuality, and David and Patrick’s relationship. Schitt’s Creek‘s cast is now even more celebrated than before, and though the show is over, there are plenty of opportunities to see them elsewhere.

Daniel Levy

Dan Levy starred in Schitt’s Creek as David Rose, and was also the co-creator of the series with his father, Eugene Levy. His next project is the romantic comedy Happiest Season, where he will be starring alongside Kristen Stewart, Victor Garber, and Mary Steenburgen, set to be released in November 2020. Dan Levy also signed a three-year overall deal with ABC studios in 2019 to develop and produce scripted projects. Although no projects from that deal have been announced yet, Levy hasn’t ruled anything out. In an interview with Variety he said, “my list of ideas… includes anything from thrillers to drama to other comedies to musicals.

Eugene Levy

Eugene Levy co-created Schitt’s Creek with his son Dan Levy and starred as patriarch of the family, Johnny Rose. In his next project, he will be lending his voice to a new animated film titled The Beast, Heroes of the Wildfire. The movie is an animated reimagining of one of the largest wildfire evacuations in Canadian history, with Levy voices Fire Chief Ducky. The film will also feature the voices of Michael J. Fox, Marlon Wayans, and Mena Suvari.

Catherine O’Hara

Catherine O’Hara played Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek, and will be voicing Mayor Owl alongside her onscreen husband for her next project in The Beast, Heroes of the Wildfire. This is not Levy and O’Hara’s first film together, as the two also starred in Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman, and the actors have enjoyed a longtime friendship and creative partnership before teaming up to play a married couple in Schitt’s Creek. Catherine O’Hara will also be featured in the animated film Extinct, alongside Ken Jeoung and Adam Devine.

Annie Murphy

Annie Murphy played David’s sister Alexis Rose in Schitt’s Creek. Her next project is starring in the upcoming AMC series Kevin Can Go F*** Himself as a belabored sitcom wife named Allison, alongside Evan Peterson as her husband Kevin. Executive-produced by Rashida Jones, Kevin Can Go F*** Himself is a dark look at the stereotypical sitcom wife, and will alternate between a traditionally sitcom multi-camera format and a more modern single-camera format. Kevin Can Go F*** Himself doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but the series will consist of eight hour-long episodes.

Noah Reid

Noah Reid played David Rose’s business partner and romantic interest Patrick Brewer on Schitt’s Creek. Following the end of the series, he announced that he will be taking a break from acting to focus on his music career. Reid previously released the album Songs From A Broken Chair in 2016, and his sophomore album Gemini was released in May 2020. Noah Reid showed off his singing voice a few times in Schitt’s Creek, most notably when he performed a rendition of “The Best” and stated that filming that scene is what inspired his return to music.

Sarah Levy

Sarah Levy, Eugene Levy’s daughter, appeared on Schitt’s Creek as Twyla Sands, a waitress in the town and friend of the family. Sarah Levy’s next project is the SyFy series The Surrealtor, where she stars with fellow Schitt’s Creek actor Tim Rozon. In the series Levy plays a realtor who doesn’t believe in the paranormal, despite all evidence to the contrary. She also guest-starred in the ABC sitcom United We Fall, which began airing in July 2020. In September, ABC announced that the series would not be renewed for season 2. Levy’s other project was a sitcom pilot called Patty’s Auto about an all-female group of mechanics. The pilot was passed on by Fox, but with the caveat that the series might eventually be retooled in the future.
