When Scream Queens hit the screen in 2015, fans just couldn’t look away. The show followed a sorority that was being targeted by the Red Devil who was slowly killing members of the sorority. The series featured so many shocking elements that it was impossible to be bored while watching the show.

One of the most significant elements of the show is the outrageous way the main characters always dress. Chanel Oberlin and her minions love to stand out and their outfits consistently make a statement. Here are the five best and five worst outfits of the show, ranked.

10 Best: Ariana Grande’s Silver Top Outfit

Fans loved when Ariana Grande played Chanel #2 in a few episodes of the show. This is one of Grande’s most memorable scenes as it’s when she gets killed by the Red Devil. While this outfit is on the simpler side of the spectrum when it comes to Scream Queens outfits, it’s a favorite for that very same reason.

The silver top is minimalistic and makes a statement paired with her white skirt, not to mention it seems to be consistent with Ariana Grande’s true style.

9 Worst: Chanel’s All-White Outfit

While Chanel (Emma Roberts) does look great in all white, this outfit just doesn’t make any sense. Is it a dress? Is it a romper? Either way, it seems to be a piece meant to worn in warmer weather, and yet Chanel pairs it with what appears to be a fur hat and fingerless gloves.

It’s very confusing seasonally, and it doesn’t look like a very classic Chanel-outfit either. Chanel’s style is typically pretty sophisticated and makes a statement about who she is, and this outfit doesn’t do either of these things.

8 Best: Chanel’s Feather Dress

This dress definitely makes a statement. Fans either love it or hate it, but it has to be one of Chanel’s best outfit to date. It looks pretty chic on her and she pairs it with a pink belt around the waist and pearl earrings and bracelets.

Some may say that this outfit is just too out there, but would you expect anything less from Chanel Oberlin? She is the original Chanel after all. Ultimately, this color scheme looks great on her and she completely pulls the whole thing off.

7 Worst: Chanel’s School Outfit

Chanel wears this outfit to school one day and fans can all agree that it’s just — a bit much. As you can see from the blurry figures in the background, Chanel completely stands out from her peers when it comes to fashion. It’s apparent she’s one-of-a-kind and fans love that about her, but this outfit just has to go.

She layers fur pieces on just about every outfit which is a mistake at times. Take away the fur coat and it’s not awful, but the extra-large necktie around her top isn’t doing the outfit any favors either.

6 Best: The Chanels’ Floral Outfits

There’s no doubt that these three are an iconic trio, especially when they color-coordinate their outfits, which is basically all the time. This specific color coordination worked in their favor as they collectively look amazing. Each girl is wearing something from the red or pink family, and two of the Chanels’ are sporting floral prints.

All of this ultimately worked really well together and made them look like the power trio they really are. Now we just have to convince Chanel #3 to lose the earmuffs.

5 Worst: Chanel’s Blue Outfit

Here’s another Chanel outfit that could have been better. This time she’s sporting all blue, a change from her typical neutral palette. This shocking outfit features an aqua dress with orange and yellow accents and a light blue feathery coat of sorts.

Let’s start with the dress. It’s unknown why this dress needed the orange and yellow accents, without them, this outfit may not have stood out so much. Then there’s the matching blue feather coat which really just ties it all together making it one unfortunate outfit.

4 Best: Chanel’s Button-Down Set

This is a perfect example of one of Chanel’s sophisticated outfits that make a statement. This button-down set makes a statement without any fur or feathers needed. It’s on the simpler side but it’s still refined and shows off Chanel’s personality.

Of course, she loves to keep people on their toes and switch things up so this simple style isn’t necessarily here to stay. As you can see in the photo, her fellow Chanels are foreshadowing some of her furrier outfits that fans had the pleasure of looking forward to.

3 Worst: Zayday and Grace’s Outfits

Zayday and Graces outfits were typically pretty understated and casual compared to the Chanels. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t have a bad outfit every now and then. In this photo, Zayday is pictured wearing jean shorts, a white top, a blue floral printed jacket, a bolo tie, and a baker boy cap. This is all just a bit much, especially the bolo tie.

Grace is also wearing a baker boy cap along with a striped t-shirt and a button-up jacket. This outfit wouldn’t be so bad however she wears a baker boy cap with almost every outfit throughout the series which is not the best choice.

2 Best: The Chanels’ Tweed Sets

Here’s another prime example of the Chanels color-coordinating and looking flawless. These pastel tweed sets work really well together and make the Chanels look like the dreamy, popular crowd that anyone would kill to be apart of.

While Chanel isn’t pictured here, fans can only imagine that she was wearing something equally pastel and even more stunning. Of course, Chanel always had to stand out and it needed to be clear that she’s the leader of the group which was consistently shown through her fashion choices.

1 Worst: The Chanels’ Hospital Outfits

These have to be the worst outfits of the entire series. While usually color-coordinating works in the Chanels’ favor, this time it seemed to work against them. The original Chanel is sporting what appears to be a shall with a neck-tie over her dress, while the other two Chanels have not parted ways with their fur.

They’re each wearing a variation of the color pink, but it just seems to clash. On top of all of this, they’re wearing bedazzled stethoscopes and vintage nurse hats with their initials or um, numbers on them.
