Sebastian Stan shared his wacky audition video for the new film Fresh, which features him dancing around his kitchen with a knife. The actor has had a fairly busy past few years, starting with the premiere of the blockbuster Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ in March 2021. This year, he’s appeared in the ensemble action film The 355 and is currently starring in the Hulu biopic series Pam & Tommy, which follows the sordid details of the marriage between Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.

Although he had all these huge projects on his plate, Sebastian Stan made room to star in Fresh, which premiered on Hulu on March 4, 2022. In the film, he plays Steve, a young man who kidnaps his girlfriend because he’s secretly a butcher who sells human meat to cannibals. The film was directed by Mimi Cave from a script by Lauryn Kahn and was produced by Adam McKay, whose 2021 project Don’t Look Up was nominated for 4 Oscars, including Best Picture, at the 2022 Academy Awards.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

On his Instagram, Sebastian Stan shared his original audition video for Fresh. The clip, which features the actor dancing around at his kitchen island with a knife, was recorded in October 2020 after he met with Mimi Cave. He gets really into his routine, tossing his hat into the air and pelvic thrusting with abandon. He even got a comment from the official Hulu account saying, “Name a better audition tape, I’ll wait!” Check out the video below:

Sebastian Stan’s new villainous role sees him playing opposite Normal People‘s Daisy Edgar-Jones. The rest of the cast is filled out by Jonica T. Gibbs, Charlotte Le Bon, Dayo Okeniyi, Andrea Bang, and Brett Dier. The film premiered earlier this year at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and garnered some strong buzz. It is now sitting pretty at an appropriately fresh score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fresh is certainly an interesting turn for the charming actor. Although he has had plenty of experience playing complicated characters, considering the way his MCU character Bucky Barnes has swung back and forth between hero and villain due to his complicated past, this character is definitely a new direction for him. It certainly continues the pattern of more complicated characters he has been taking on recently after moving from the Winter Soldier to Tommy Lee.
