Kane’s Jacob Goodnight became a cult horror slasher following the original movie, but will WWE ever make a See No Evil 3? Given the popularity of WWE and many of its wrestlers, it only made sense the brand would expand to movies like See No Evil too. That said, while many wrestlers have charisma to burn in the ring, that doesn’t always translate to acting talent. Roddy Piper may have done an impressive job with They Live and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson eventually became one of the world’s biggest movie stars, but many other wrestlers didn’t quite make the leap to big-screen stardom.

WWE Studio’s movie output has been a mixed bag overall, so for every hit like The Scorpion King or the John Cena-fronted The Marine – which has received five STV sequels – there are lots of duds too, including Colin Farrell thriller Dead Man Down. WWE tried to mount its own slasher series with See No Evil, which cast wrestling legend Glenn Jacobs – AKA Kane – as Jacob Goodnight. This enjoyably over-the-top effort saw Goodnight stalk a group of people through an abandoned hotel, with the killer’s motif being ripping out his victims’ eyes.

See No Evil – originally titled Eye Scream Man – got a lukewarm response, but was enough of a success to spawn See No Evil 2. This Soska sisters (American Mary) helmed follow-up didn’t get much better reviews, but is there any hope for See No Evil 3?

See No Evil 2 Left Jacob Goodnight Alive

While Kane’s Jacob Goodnight seemingly died at the end of See No Evil, the 2014 follow-up confirmed that not only was he alive, but he’s seemingly unkillable. In See No Evil 2’s finale, the slasher is pumped full of embalming fluid – which still doesn’t stop him. The sequel also made him more of a traditional slasher by giving him a mask. See No Evil 2 ended on a downer note, with Goodnight being the only character to survive. That means See No Evil 3′s story would be starting from a clean slate.

See No Evil 2 Wasn’t A Big Success

Unlike its predecessor, See No Evil 2 went straight to DVD and ended up grossing less than $2 million. While the sequel’s budget hasn’t been reported, it’s still doubtful it turned much profit for WWE, which might be a key reason See No Evil 3 didn’t continue WWE’s underrated franchise.

See No Evil’s Kane Is Focused On His Political Career

In 2018, Glenn Jacobs was elected mayor in Tennessee, and while he’s made occasional appearances as Kane since then, his political career is his focus. He’s set to run for re-election in 2022, and even if See No Evil 3 was mooted, it’s doubtful he could spare the time to film it in the near future.

See No Evil 3 May Not Happen

Since the release of the second movie, there’s been little to no word on See No Evil 3. The franchise hasn’t been particularly profitable, Jacobs is focused on his political career and there are no real, lingering questions left to answer about Jacob Goodnight. The first two movies were a wild attempt to create a new slasher icon, but it currently looks doubtful Jacob Goodnight will return for See No Evil 3.
