Audiences can see The Lost City one week early at special Fandango screenings, the first in the program since the pandemic shut theaters down. Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock are leading the ensemble cast for the rom-com adventure alongside Daniel Radcliffe as the villainous Fairfax, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Patti Harrison, Oscar Nuñez, Raymond Lee, Bowen Yang and Brad Pitt. The Lost City hails from Masters of the Universe directing duo Aaron and Adam Nee, who re-wrote the script based on previous drafts by Mortal Kombat‘s Oren Uziel and Cruella‘s Dana Fox, all of which was based on a story treatment from Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Lost City revolves around Bullock’s Loretta Sage, a brilliant-but-reclusive adventure novelist, and Tatum’s handsome cover model Alan, who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero of her books. When Loretta is kidnapped on her book tour by Radcliffe’s eccentric billionaire Fairfax, who believes she can lead him to the titular home of ancient gold, Alan sets off to rescue her in the hopes of proving himself a real hero, thrusting them into a wild adventure. As The Lost City gears up for its release, those excited for the film’s arrival have something to look forward to.

With just a few weeks remaining until the film hits theaters, Fandango has announced special early screenings for The Lost City. As part of their Premiere Screenings program that launched in 2019, Fandango is offering audiences the chance to catch the Tatum and Bullock-led adventure early on March 19, a full week ahead of the film’s wide theatrical release. Tickets are now on sale for The Lost City‘s early screenings, which is playing at 225 theaters nationwide and will include exclusive interviews with the cast of the film.

Fandango’s early Lost City screenings mark the latest title to receive the early exhibition treatment from the program since studios began ramping back up their theatrical releases. The Premiere Screenings series first launched in 2019 with some of the early screenings offered having included the Taron Egerton-starring Rocketman, the DC Extended Universe’s Shazam! and Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation Doctor Sleep. With theaters having shut down or played in limited capacity amidst the ongoing pandemic, the program remained dormant before coming back with the Jennifer Hudson-led Aretha Franklin biopic Respect this past December.

It is interesting to note that The Lost City‘s early Fandango screenings won’t mark the film’s actual debut as it is currently scheduled to make its world premiere at this year’s South by Southwest film festival on March 12. With Paramount offering multiple opportunities for the film to be seen ahead of its wide theatrical release, it seems as though the studio has a lot of confidence in the Tatum and Bullock-starring adventure and how critics will respond to it. The wait is nearly over as The Lost City hits theaters early from Fandango on March 19 followed by a wide release on March 25.
