Bernie McGee joined Seeking Sister Wife in season 2, and we’re about to talk about why fans never forget him. He and his wife Paige McGee were looking for a sister wife to help them have more children. They wanted to see if polygamy was right for them. While fans were hopeful that the two would succeed, Bernie passed away before he could tie the knot with another woman. It’s been a couple of years since his passing but fans still remember his contributions to the show.

Bernie and Paige entered Seeking Sister Wife with five children and wanted to have more. Since Paige could no longer have babies, they thought another wife would be able to help. After their home burned down, they searched for a potential sister-wife. However, due to ongoing jealousy issues, the two were unable to find the right match.

Aside from his polygamy journey, Bernie was described as someone who was full of life. He loved his friends and family very much. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed camping, hiking and riding his bike. He tragically died while performing one of his favorite activities.

Bernie McGee Passed Away While Cycling

On June 15, 2019, Bernie passed away while out cycling. He developed heat stroke while riding his bicycle and had a heart attack. He was then brought to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. “Our hearts go out to the McGee family following the loss of husband and father Bernie McGee,” the TLC Twitter account tweeted. “Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.” See that tweet below:

Bernie McGee Was A Controversial Reality Star

As with other Seeking Sister Wife stars, including alleged abuser Dimitri Snowden, Bernie was in hot water at times. In March 2019, he and his wife were both arrested and charged with stalking. The couple was presumed to have stalked Paige’s brother Patrick and his girlfriend, via constant calls to his home, cell phone, and work phone. The two were released from jail the same day that they were convicted. After Bernie’s death, the harassment towards Patrick reportedly continued. Paige blamed Patrick for her husband’s death, alleging that her brother’s frequent attacks against the two caused him to die. “Patrick Marble… YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND AND I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL.. And you better stay the HELL away from me and my family!” she alleged on Facebook, according to People.

One Fan Called Him “Cool”

While he was a cast member who seemed untrustworthy at times, his death hurt his family and fans. “I am so sorry to hear this!! I was watching the reality show…and he was a considerate husband and truly loves his wife and kids.!!! RIP!” one YouTube commenter said. “Bernie seemed like a cool, easy going, laid back guy. I can’t imagine the pain and sorrow that his wife Paige and his son’s are going through,” said another. Fan miss him and the drama he brought to Seeking Sister Wife.

As with many reality TV shows, Seeking Sister Wife has its fair share of highs and lows. With dishonesty, domestic violence, and jealousy among cast members, the polygamous families undergo misfortunes while the viewers watch problems unfold. However, jealousy can’t be compared to the pain of losing a loved one. Bernie surely had his issues and flaws, but his family and Seeking Sister Wife fans continue to miss him.
