Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause revealed she almost sued fellow costar Christine Quinn after she planted a false rumor about her in the press. While Chrishell and Christine have not interacted much during the new season of the Netflix series, their feud dates back way before this season. The pair began their feud during season 1 after Christine called Chrishell two-faced for asking about Mary Fitzgerald’s financial situation with her then-fiancée, Romain.

While Christine attempted to make amends with Chrishell, she had already blocked her on every social media platform. While they were able to remain civil between season 1 and at the start of season 3, their relationship went downhill again after Chrishell’s announced her divorce from ex-husband Justin Hartly. Christine and their fellow Selling Sunset costar Davina Portaiz toyed with the idea of taking his side, which Chrishell was hurt by. This is when Chrishell realized she couldn’t trust Christine.

During a recent interview with Vulture, Chrishell opened up about the tense divide between her and the mother of one. In the interview, the actress was asked about the dramatic season 4 finale and what led everyone, including Chrishell, to go against Christine. Chrishell revealed that there was much more going on off-camera that caused the divide between her and Christine. “She tried to plant a false story when I was going through my divorce, and I had to have both sides confirm that it wasn’t true and then threaten legal action,” Chrishell admitted. She heard about this rumor shortly after he mother passed away from cancer in July 2020. “It was a lot on my plate and kicking someone while they’re down and trying to spread a rumor that I was hooking up with someone. Both parties knew that is not what happened,” she added.

While she was able to pull the story from being published, Chrishell was hurt that Christine would try to plant a false rumor when she knew she was still processing the death of her mother. She ended up having to second thousands of dollars in legal fees to stop the story from being published and even threaten legal action against her costar. However, this didn’t stop Christine from counting to spread false rumors about her. In fact, she said that Chrishell and Jason were a couple long before they confirmed their relationship this summer which Chrishell denies. “She takes it as an opportunity to fill in some blanks that were blatantly untrue. It was many steps too far for me,” Chrishell added. While Chrishell didn’t confirm what the rumor was, it is likely her rumored affair with Gleb Savchenko, her Dancing With The Stars partner, who was married at the time. However, both parties have denied the rumors.

It seems there is much more to Chrishell’s anger towards Christine than Selling Sunset fans realized. Christine continues to speak on Chrishell’s personal life despite the hardships she has been through over the last couple of years. Since Christine is now a mother and a wife, she should be focusing on her family and not the personal lives of her costars.
