Netflix’s reality hit, Selling Sunset introduced the world to the high finance of Los Angeles’ priciest real estate. But, of course, the big pretty houses with the big scary price tags aren’t the only reason the show became so wildly popular. The women of the Oppenheim Group hocking these luxury listings kept us coming back for three solid seasons. We followed them as they held open houses and managed their personal squabbles, er, serious interpersonal dramas that most often resulted in shouting matches and hurt feelings.

Heather Rae Young, who was first introduced as one of the most promising of Oppenheim’s set of sexy brokers, was also introduced as someone who let her dating life get in the way of her professional ambitions. Instead of working with her interior designer to properly stage a major listing, she took a call from her then-boyfriend, a hockey player named Nick. It was a long-distance relationship that wasn’t going well but putting men before mansions turned out to be a pattern for Heather. Later, when Heather was seriously dating Flip or Flop star Tarek El Moussa, she needed someone to cover a showing for her so she could attend El Moussa’s daughter’s birthday party. Amanza, a single parent working her butt off, kindly offered to help Heather. Unfortunately, Amanza was slightly late for the showing. It didn’t really matter though, Heather’s client bought the house. But that didn’t stop Heather from giving Amanza a hard time for her “lack of professionalism.” The ridiculousness of Heather’s anger only cast more light on how quickly Heather dissolves herself when it comes to fostering her romantic relationships.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Heather’s relationship with Tarek grew and grew. Her coworkers accused her of moving too quickly, but she took no heed. Tarek proposed to Heather in July 2020 on their one-year anniversary. To really seal the deal, Heather very recently tattooed her commitment to El Moussa just above her butt with the words, “Yes sir, Mr. El Moussa.” She debuted the new tattoo on Instagram with the caption: “Happy Valentine’s Day Mr E Moussa. I love you handsome, best friends forever.” El Moussa commented: “Forever and ever and ever.” Heather explained her tattoo in her Insta stories saying, “It’s a special Valentine’s present for him, I’m really excited and I can’t wait to show you guys.” She also said, “It’s very meaningful because I’m doing it for my fiancé. It’s something that’s just for us, so you might not see it.” Of course, then we all did see it in her post. She has since deleted that post.

Tarek is divorced from his first wife and former Flip or Flop co-host, Christina Anstead. The couple had a public split in 2016 but continued to amicably co-parent their two children. Heather seems to be fitting in with the kids quite well. In a recent post of herself with Tarek and his daughter, Heather said, “Grateful’s an understatement. This past year was rocky to say the least but through it all, I’m so grateful to have been surrounded by love and family. It’s so special to be brought so much love, laughter, and happiness not only from @therealtarekmoussa but by the kids, too and honestly just being around the whole family gives me a different kind of peace and joy.

The couple doesn’t have wedding plans as of yet, but they have said exes will not be invited. For now, they are gearing up for the fourth season of Selling Sunset. The Netflix renewal was confirmed on December 1, 2020. And though exact storylines aren’t confirmed, it is more than likely that Tarek will make his debut. We will all certainly be watching!
