Close sources of Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley are coming forward to help squash rumors amidst the messy divorce. Here’s what we know about whether or not the This is Us heartthrob cheated on the reality star. 

Cheating allegations first arose earlier this week when one fan’s theory got a lot of attention on Twitter. The fan tweeted that Hartley had been unfaithful to Stause (with his current girlfriend Sofia Pernas) last summer. Stause also added fuel to the fire by liking the tweet. Naturally this caused a whirlwind of celebrity drama over the internet. Hartley’s (first) ex-wife took to Instagram to defend her former husband (and the father of their 16-year-old daughter). Now, close friends are sharing inside information about the former couple in order to put gossip rumors to bed. So, did Justin Hartley really have an affair during his marriage to Chrishell Stause? According to E! News, the two stars did not cheat on one another. A source close to Chrishell Stause said to E!, “Chrishell knew they were having problems in their marriage. They were fighting for months before Justin filed, but she didn’t think he would actually end their marriage, […] “They always brushed their problems under the rug.” 

E! News went on to report, “But the source notes Chrishell doesn’t have closure. The insider says, “She speculates a lot about what truly happened between them.”  “Chrishell is heartbroken that he has moved on so quickly,” the source continues. “It doesn’t do her any good to dwell on the possibilities of Justin cheating, and is trying to move on.” Then the source confirms that Hartley was never unfaithful by saying, “Cheating was never in the cards and never happened on either side.”

This Hollywood break up is getting juicer by the moment, thanks to social media. But, for now it looks like the cheating speculations were just a rumor and we can finally put that tea to bed.
